Meri Brown has revealed how she dumped Kody, and it was pretty brutal. After years of being in a polygamous marriage, she ended things over text, before he called her 20 minutes later.
Sister Wives follows the dramatic polygamous marriage that involves Kody Brown and what was four wives. It’s whittled down to just Robyn Brown after Meri Brown called it quits with Kody.
Meri Brown dumped Kody over text
Meri Brown dumped Kody over text message, so it’s no surprising he called her 20 minutes later. She wanted to go through the church to terminate their spiritual marriage after they legally divorced in 2014.
She read the message out on Sister Wives, which said: “‘Hi Kody, just wanted to follow up from the text I sent a couple weeks ago. Just wanted to let you know I had a conversation with the leadership in Utah.”
“The official release was granted. I’m broken-hearted that our life came to this. I will always love and respect you. Thank you for many years of joy. I hope you truly will have peace now,” Meri added.
He thought she had a ‘guy waiting’
Meri ended her text with, “I release you from any responsibility or worry about me. I got this.” But just 20 minutes later, Kody didn’t type back a message… He called her – and was not happy at all.
According to Meri, he said, “Why did you do it so fast? I don’t understand why you did it so fast. You have a guy on the side waiting?” She found the comments “insulting” as he had “no interest” in their marriage.
She said it was the only other option. Meri had opted to terminate her marriage through the family’s church and was “granted what is called in our church, a release, which is the equivalent of a divorce.”
Remember when Meri got catfished
Meri once got catfished by a person claiming to be called Sam. The online affair in 2015 played out during her relationship with Kody, and was filmed for Sister Wives season 11.
She met the so-called Sam on Twitter, where they spoke for six months. But instead of talking to ‘Sam’, Meri was really having an online romance with an infamous online catfish, Jackie Overton.
Meri went as far as to send ‘Sam’ intimate text messages and “pictures”, which were later leaked on a personal blog and in a book titled Almost Meri’ed, and Kody found out about the whole thing.
During an episode of Sister Wives, Meri spoke about her wrongdoings and how she “pushed away” the wrong person. This was after the catfish convinced her how “horrible” the family and Kody were to her.
