1000-lb Sisters star Tammy Slaton admits she still feels insecure after dropping 500lbs and regularly undergoes makeovers with her sister, Amy, because she “wants to feel beautiful.”

While fans notice the 1000-lb Sisters star has taken on a “whole new personality” post-weight loss, Tammy Slaton still hasn’t got 100 percent of her confidence back since losing 500lbs.

After years of work, Tammy Slaton admits she’s still insecure despite losing 500lbs since 1000-lb Sisters premiered in 2020. She’s lost over half her former body weight as of August 2024, having been 725lbs at her heaviest.

Excess skin she has left as a result of losing weight is her biggest insecurity, yet her doctor, Eric Smith, recently said Tammy’s “journey is a true testament to her determination.”

Fans noticed Tammy’s entire aura has changed. “Tammy’s whole personality has changed too. You can tell she’s not as frustrated and angry so she actually gets to engage in life and be happy,” said a viewer.

1000-lb Sisters star gets makeover

Tammy Slaton feels it’s important to regularly undergo makeovers with her sister, Amy, due to her insecurities. She “wants to feel beautiful” and make sure her sibling’s confidence is helped, too.

The sisters let each other choose makeovers for one another, with Tammy saying Amy only dyes her hair “every once in a blue moon – literally, blue.” Amy begged her sister not to give her a natural hair color.

They have both lost hundreds of pounds of weight, both starting out weighing more than 1000lbs combined. Now, Tammy weighs 220lbs, while Amy is weighing in a similar weight, at 225lbs.
