As if Kim Kardashian breaking into the acting world wasn’t enough, she’s now a producer on a BBC Arts biopic of icon Elizabeth Taylor. It’s no secret that Kim wears many hats. She’s a mom of four, runs a billion-dollar business, appears in American Horror Story, and is carrying out prison reform work.
Although fans may be aware of the Kardashians’ love of old Hollywood glamor, some may not be so clued up on how much Kim Kardashian admires Elizabeth Taylor. Ahead of the biopic’s, Elizabeth Taylor: Rebel Superstar, release on September 27, fans are given a teaser of what’s to come via an exclusive clip.
Kim Kardashian’s ‘love’ for Elizabeth Taylor
An exclusive clip shared by Deadline this September sees Kim explaining how “excited” she is for people to learn more about Elizabeth Taylor’s life.
She tells the cameras: “When I heard about this project, I was really excited for people to get to know more. she was so important and so special.”
Kim adds: “My love for Elizabeth is just number one to me. The way I envision her is just everything was just a great love to her, even if it had a tragic ending, she still looks at the positive and the light through that experience.”
The Kardashians star continues: “She finds love again after something so tragic. She finds hope again, she’s not a victim. I really am just excited for people to get to know who she really is.”
“She has inspired me to fight for people that can’t fight for themselves. There’s just so many things that I love about her,” Kim adds.
Kim interviewed the late icon
Not only is Kim fulfilling a dream by producing Elizabeth Taylor’s biopic, but the reality TV star actually interviewed the late icon shortly before her death in 2011.
Kim spoke with Elizabeth in what is thought to be her last-ever interview, per The Mirror.
Explaining how she ended up face-to-face with the star for an interview, Kim said: “I was doing a shoot for Harper’s Bazaar and they said they’d love it to have a Cleopatra-themed cover, and that I could interview Elizabeth for the cover story…
“Everyone knew how much I loved her and I was so excited… Interviewing her felt surreal, I was so nervous. Just to know we had a good time doing it. Elizabeth would laugh and say, ‘I can’t believe you know so much. I can’t believe you know more about my jewelry than I even remember’.”
