EXCLUSIVE: Ryan Serhant and his team of top realtors are taking Netflix by storm this year as they appear in an all-new series – Owning Manhattan. Some have been in the business for decades, while others are still carving out their real estate careers. One of the Owning Manhattan cast members, Jordan March, gives Reality Tidbit the inside scoop on what it was like to star in the show.
Jordan March was inspired to kick off his real estate career in 2008 mainly in a bid to make money to support his music projects. A man of many talents, since breaking into the realty world, he’s made $1 billion in sales, and now he adds being on a hit Netflix show to his impressive resumé.
Jordan loved the reality TV experience
Although Jordan’s passion wasn’t always selling property, he turned his hand to realty over 15 years ago and never looked back.
Now, he’s reaching Netflix stardom off the back of his real estate props.
Speaking of his experience filming Owning Manhattan, he said: “I love it, yeah. I always had aspirations to work in some capacity in TV, whether behind the scenes or in front of the scenes.”
He tells Reality Tidbit how he also “loves business,” so combining the two skill sets and backgrounds was a dream come true.
Telling us how his life has changed since the show, he says: “I’m traveling a lot for business, I’m hearing from people from all sides of the Earth literally because Netflix is in 90 countries. I would definitely say people know and easily recognize the show. It’s gotten a strong response.”
He wants to use his Netflix fame as a “tool to create new deals,” and adds how he has “$300 million in queue just because of the show.”
Owning Manhattan ‘isn’t scripted at all’
Of course, when any new reality TV show comes out, fans are always wanting to know how real it actually is.
Jordan gives us the goss on the reality of Owning Manhattan: “There was no scripted reality whatsoever, there was even no second takes.”
He continues: “I think people are just really awed by and surprised by some of the drama, but we did not contrive this, if there is anything that was even thought of being contrived even if it wasn’t, the director would just send everybody home and call the scene.”
From the stories seen on the show to the deals made, Jordan tells us they weren’t fake: “It’s literally, completely 100 per cent real.”
He adds: “Us as agents, we’re thinking with a different lens. They [the production team] just want it to flow and be natural, and they record it long enough to find people’s most compelling stories.”
Jordan tells Reality Tidbit how the filming process lasted around two years in total, “…but I would say the crux of it was last year between spring to the fall.”
He “loved it all” especially his “dynamic with Chloe,” and adds how he has “no regrets whatsoever.”
Jordan explains how he had a “really profitable year,” and dishes that season 2 could be “in the pipeline,” despite there being “no official” word.
“We are preparing for it just as if we were going to be ready to film tomorrow, getting our business in order and so on…”
Outside of his Netflix fame, and his super successful real estate career, Jordan says he’s still passionate about music.
The reality TV star has a currently untitled debut album on the way. He also tells Reality Tidbit how he’s working with investors on new developments as well as a private yacht club.
Jordan’s talents don’t stop there, either, as he explains how he landed the role of Carlos in a movie called The City God Forgot.
