This June, Netflix viewers are given a glimpse into the lives of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. Of the hundreds of women who try out for the team, only 36 make the cut. The training is tough and the coaches are even tougher. But, the DCC stars seem to be prepared for anything that comes their way. They reveal their must-have items by unpacking their gym bags.
Netflix is renowned for its sports docu-series. From QB1 to Last Chance U, many of the streaming service’s real-life documentaries have been huge hits. Now, fans are totally engrossed in the DCC world. While being a cheerleader may look glamorous, America’s Sweethearts shows some of the realities of the sport including what the team gets paid.

America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders stars Kelcey, Reece, and Victoria share their must-haves with fans this July.
The ladies begin by showing the “oldest thing” in their bags, Reece whips out a “turner or half shoe,” which helps her achieve the perfect pirouettes. She says: “She’s kind of seen the nationals floor.”
Victoria says the oldest thing in her bag is a curling iron. Calling the item her prized possession, she adds: “Once I have a curl technique, I don’t go back.”
Kelcey reveals she always has snacks in the bottom of her bag because she’s often out of the house for “17 hours a day.”
Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders are prepared for anything
The ladies items don’t stop there, and they also get pretty sentimental with some of their must-haves.
Reece brings out some boot paint from her bag, explaining how their white boots often get dirty so “we need to clean them up.”
The girls also carry spare squad photos for fans if they’re spotted out and about.
Kelcey says the most valuable thing in her bag is her journal: “…with two stressful jobs” she says it “helps to write things out.”
When it comes to Reece’s number one thing she always carries, she says: “My liquid IV – in Texas it gets hot.”
Kelcey laughs: “Ibuprofen… you always need it,” adding how her “hips hurt after five years of doing that jump split.”
Victoria’s go-to item is portable camera lights, a true professional, she explains: “You never know when a photo op is going to happen so you need good lighting.”
Between liquid IV, ibuprofen, and camera lights, the ladies are ready for anything!
