My 600-lb Life viewers revisit the journey of Julius ‘JT’ Clark in an all-new episode of My 600-lb Life: Where Are They Now? this June. Rounding off the season, the final episode features JT and another of Dr Younan Nowzaradan’s former patients, Seana.
My 600-lb Life features people who want to turn their lives around with the help of famed bariatric surgeon, Dr Now. JT tipped the scales at almost 900lb during his time on the show and also dealt with a case of lymphedema that left him feeling “tortured and trapped.”
My 600-lb Life’s JT was on season 8
TLC viewers first met JT during season 8 episode 4.
At the time, he was 32 years old and not only had a weight loss journey on his hands, but JT struggled to walk due to a 100lb mass on his leg.
He told cameras he had a food addiction but managed to lose around 400 lbs on the show with Dr Now’s guidance.
JT gives TLC fans an update
This June, TLC fans are given an update on JT’s journey.
Speaking to cameras in the season 7 episode he said: “I’m still losing like I need and staying on track with it but my exercise and walking is getting harder. Like, I was worried with the lymphedema mass.”
The My 600-lb Life star faced difficulty in his journey as his lymphedema began causing him more pain as he lost more weight.
He said: “Losing weight actually makes it worse because it’s not as tight, it sags more and it causes more pain. So I’m really worried I’m going to have to slow down soon with that but I really don’t want to. I feel trapped because of the mass on me. My whole day is at home and the park I walk to twice a day. If no one is around I’m just alone and on my own. So, I want to start getting out there and living life.”
JT told cameras of his troubles: “I can’t because of the stupid lymphedema mass. It’s around 100lb pulling on me, torturing me, and trapping me. I have to get it off no matter what it takes.”
Despite the huge hurdle he faced in having the lymphedema mass, JT was determined to turn his life around. He said: “I’m having no trouble with my diet, I just need to figure out how to maintain my workout routine.”
The reality TV star speaks to Dr Now to see what can be done about his lymphedema, especially the pain that comes with it.
He said: “I don’t want to start going backward.
“My body and that mass has held me back for a long time. I’m done with that and ready to start living my life. I’m going to do it because I gave up so much to get to this point.”
Thankfully, the star was able to shift hundreds of pounds and Dr Now removed the mass from his leg.
Where is JT now?
While the My 600-Lb Life: Where Are They Now? update gave fans some idea of the progress JT made after the show, his social media page provides even more.
The TLC star’s Facebook profile photo sees him looking unrecognizable these days.
He writes in his bio that he’s currently “single” when it comes to his relationship status.
Fans take to his account to share some words of support as his story is revisited on the TLC show.
One writes: “I’ve just seen your story today I wish you’re OK you’re so brave keep up the good work.”
Another says: “Just watched your episode and you are amazing for all that you accomplished! So exciting for your engagement! You deserve all the best! Congrats to both of you!”
