Meet The Great House Giveaway presenters Tayo Oguntonade and Simon O’Brian

Brand new episodes of Channel 4’s The Great House Giveaway have premiered and introduced a new co-host, Tayo Oguntonade.

The show sees two people with no experience on the property ladder given a lump sum to buy a property at auction and a six-month time scale to completely refurbish the house to re-sell and keep any profit.

The first series host, Simon O’Brian will also be returning to present the second series, alongside Tayo.

So who exactly is the new presenter on the show?

Who is Tayo Oguntonade?

A mortgage broker and property expert, Tayo is also now a presenter since joining The Great House Giveaway.

Studying economics at the University of Portsmouth, Tayo has since fully qualified as a mortgage advisor. Purchasing his own first home at just 22-years-old, Tayo now lives with his wife, Antoinette, who he married in May 2019.

The couple has since co-founded BrickzWithTipz, which is a property blogging platform designed to give advice and expertise to those needing help in the world of property. The site has since reached over 50,000 people.

Who is Simon O’Brien?

The original host of the series, Simon O’Brien is also an actor, radio presenter and property developer.

Born on the 19th June 1965, Simon resides in Liverpool with his wife, Elizabeth and their daughter, Rosa.

Formerly known for playing the character, Damon Grant in the soap, Brookside in the 1980s, now 56-year-old Simon has presented many television series including My Derelict Dream Home and Find it, Fix it, Flog it.

From his acting and presenting career, Simon now is estimated to have a net worth of £1.5 million.

Channel 4’s Black to Front Project

The episodes of The Great House Giveaway were released in September as part of Channel 4’s Black to Front project.

The month-long project aims to improve Black representation on-screen across the entire channel.

Tayo is set to continue as a co-host to Simon on the show which will air its full second season later in 2021.
