How to add any physical loyalty card to your Apple Wallet with genius new iOS 27 feature
Finally something that’s actually useful
iOS 27 was released over two weeks ago now, and everyone casually just missed the most amazing feature Apple has added in a long time: adding any physical loyalty card to your Wallet. Yep, you can turn any old annoying cardboard loyalty card into a digital one on your iPhone.
The feature is called Create A Pass and launched as part of Apple Intelligence on iOS 27, the tech giant’s built-in AI system that basically controls everything on your iPhone now.
It’s so easy to do. You create a custom pass in your Apple Wallet and add in all the details like the company name, loyalty number and expiry date. Then, you take a picture of the barcode or QR code, and it automatically adds it to the card. How clever! Plus, you can even customise the loyalty card by changing the background colour so you can tell which one’s which.
“You can make your own passes from a physical card, photo, or screenshot—useful for membership and loyalty cards that have a barcode or QR code but no digital pass, like a library card or gym membership,” Apple said.
With the new feature, you can finally get rid of all those annoying cards that have been clogging up your purse for years. Honestly, it’s a total game-changer and the best thing Apple has added in a very long time. Here’s a step-by-step guide that explains exactly how to do it.
