MAFS Australia’s Katie Johnston is now thriving a year on from her messy marriage to Tim

She’s written a book and online courses about dealing with toxic men

Katie did not have a great time on MAFS Australia. Her groom Tim Gromie made it clear he was only interested in “petite blondes”. Their relationship didn’t last very long. Thankfully, Katie Johnston is now living her best life a year after she was filmed for MAFS Australia 2025. Here’s a look at what she’s up to.

Katie is focusing on her health

In a new interview with Woman’s Day, Katie shared that her stint on MAFS made her realise she was stuck in an unhealthy emotional “cycle”. She explained: “I needed to feel mentally strong enough to start looking after my physical health.” A DEXA scan revealed that Katie had high visceral fat levels. “That basically means early death,” she continued, “that was the shock that I needed to take this journey very seriously. My self-sabotage was done. I had to save my life.”

Katie worked closely with a doctor over three months. She changed her diet and exercise patterns, and now her visceral fat levels are healthy.

She had an unexpected career change

Katie still runs a group of restaurants and cafes called EATS. But she launched another business side quest as a life coach. After her MAFS Australia marriage to Tim, Katie spent six months creating a free online course called Rescue Yourself From Toxic People.

Katie has, like, a thousand new hobbies

She now creates canvas paintings of flowers while on a balcony overlooking her garden, and topless.

Katie has taken up rock climbing and salsa dancing.

Her Instagram is full of videos of her running through the wilderness with dogs. How vibey.

She also started a vegetable and herb garden by her house. Honestly, how does she have the time?

She’s in her self love era

Katie isn’t dating anybody at the moment. She’s been focusing on “self-love”. Amazing. Katie has been sharing many, many wellbeing tips to her Instagram. She’s recommending people eat more protein, and massage their faces with rose quartz crystals. Katie also shared her routine for a “T.I.M. workout”. “T.I.M.” stands for “thrive, inspire, move”, of course.

You can buy her debut ebook, Health Through Self Love – My Weight Loss & Wellness Journey, for £8 on her website. *Jazz hands*.
