Here’s exactly which Russell Group unis each The Summer I Turned Pretty character would go to
Jeremiah just screams Durham
So, we are almost at the end of The Summer I Turned Pretty. Only two more weeks after this, and we’ll finally know who Belly will choose, or if she chooses anyone at all. Jenny Han has hinted that the ending won’t be neat, but a girl can hope.
I don’t know what the finale has in store for us, but what I do know is exactly which Russell Group unis the Cousins Beach gang would go to. They’re all in uni or recent graduates now anyway, Conrad and Steven even went to Ivy League schools in the show, so it only feels right to imagine where they’d end up if they crossed the pond to the UK.
So, here’s my very official ranking of which Russell Group unis each The Summer I Turned Pretty character belongs at:
Belly – University of Exeter

via Prime Video
If Belly’s life ever stopped revolving around the Fisher boys, she would propbably for Exeter uni. Exeter has the beach vibes that Belly can’t live without, plus the sports facilities to keep her swimming and staying active. She’d be living her best student life, studying, sunbathing on the cathedral green, and sneaking off to Cornwall when she misses Cousins too much.
Conrad – University of Cambridge

via Prime Video
Most Read
Conrad is smart, broody, and endlessly overthinking life, so Cambridge medicine is his obvious match. Sure, Oxbridge isn’t the most practical for hands-on hospital experience, but Conrad doesn’t exactly scream “practical” anyway. He’d thrive in endless supervisions, discussing theory and philosophy of medicine instead of actually practicing it. Bonus points: There’s even a patch of grass at Magdalene College by the river that students call “the beach.” He’d pick it instantly, missing Cousins.
Jeremiah – Durham University

via Prime Video
Jere is the ultimate definition of posh, who eats a two-tier dark chocolate cake with a raspberry coulis filling and a mirror glaze. He is also someone who loves to party, so Durham is his perfect fit. He’d be the life of every champagne society mixer, bouncing between formals and wild college nights, emphasis on the wild.
Steven – Imperial College London

via Prime Video
Steven is ridiculously smart and laser-focused on his career, so Imperial is his home. The uni’s strong computer science and STEM reputation makes it the obvious choice for him. He’d be stressed, competitive, and constantly coding, but also secretly thriving in London life.
Taylor – King’s College London

via Prime Video
Taylor is such a London girlie. She’s fashionable, sociable, and always has a side hustle or society role lined up. King’s offers the perfect combo of edgy, cool vibes with an academic edge, plus courses in culture, media, and creative industries that fit her perfectly. She’d be running the fashion society by week two and Instagramming every second of it.
