The hilarious reason this old Katie Price song from 2017 is number one on iTunes right now

The UK’s level of petty is unmatched

Katie Price has pulled off the most chaotic and unexpected comeback of 2025 – and it’s all thanks to a song she released eight years ago.

Her 2017 single, I Got U, has reached the top of the iTunes Charts this week, basically because the UK is rallying behind her after all the drama with her ex Peter Andre.

The song has landed at number one, and is closely followed by her single Hurricane at number six, beating songs by Ed Sheeran and Olivia Dean.

Katie called it a dream come true and reposted congratulations on Instagram Stories: “Thank you to everyone, my dreams have come true.”

She then joked: “Well, for once I’m speechless! Thank you so much!”

The timing of the track’s resurgence could not be more unhinged. Alongside her surprise music career revival, Katie is back in the headlines thanks to her ongoing feud with ex Peter Andre, after revelations from their daughter Princess’s new reality show. People have been revisiting their messy relationship, with many now openly rooting for Katie after claims about Peter’s past behaviour resurfaced.

And because the UK loves pettiness, people are clearly streaming I Got U as a way of sticking it to Peter. He recently teased a new reggae-inspired single called Island Girl from his upcoming album, but the internet doesn’t seem to care.

Even more ridiculously, if you type Peter Andre into Spotify, Katie’s I Got U comes up as the top result, proving the internet will happily do your shade for you.

One TikToker summed it up perfectly: “The fact Peter Andre just released a new single but the UK has got Katie Price’s 2017 song to number one.”

Katie, meanwhile, is leaning straight into the chaos. Back in May she revealed plans for a new album and a tour next year: “Music, I’ve got my album coming out, I’m going up and down the country doing my normal gigs and next year, I haven’t released the dates yet, I’m touring up and down the country.”
