Alaska admits the real reason she thinks Drag Race will never ask her back for another series

‘They don’t want to talk to me – the door is fully closed’

Alaska 5000 is RuPaul’s Drag Race royalty, and that was before she scored her slam dunk victory on the best season ever – All Stars 2. Alaska is a drag queen’s drag queen, a complete nerd for the art, the craft and an exemplary performer on RuPaul’s Drag Race because she always has understood what makes the show click. She’s a perfect winner and a fan favourite for a reason, and many fans of the show have always assumed it’s a done deal that she’d be back for the next season of All Winners, whenever that may be. But Alaska has opened up about how she thinks she will never return to Drag Race, because she feels that World of Wonder (the production company who make the show) have a major issue with her for this reason.

Alaska recently appeared with living legend Kelly Mantle on Kelly’s podcast and dished why she genuinely thinks it will no longer ever happen – and the lore runs deep.

‘The door was closed’

When Kelly asks Alaska why she wasn’t asked back for the first all winners season, which was 2022 with All Stars 7, Alaska says “They don’t want to talk to me. And I think it comes back to the fact I have a podcast with Willam. Because Willam is very on the outs with World of Wonder. So when I decided we wanted to do a podcast together, they were like ‘We’re really disappointed you’ve decided to do a podcast.’

“He didn’t say that to me, he said that to someone on my team. I never really put two and two together til it was like, ghosted. And the door was closed. And now it’s like, a joke. The door is fully closed. But I would love to go back.” Kelly then says she feels like World of Wonder “need to open that door.”

The Willam lore that Alaska is referring to in these comments and why her doing Race Chaser with Willam might have rubbed World of Wonder up the wrong way is because Willam has always had friction with RuPaul personally and the show. Since Willam was disqualified in season four, she claims the show didn’t treat her correctly. She also claims to have had a big argument with RuPaul in the streets of LA over their mutual friendship of Mathu Anderson – who was sick at the time.

Willam has stated that RuPaul “will never be in a room with me again” – which is why in Alaska’s view the production team behind the show are distancing themselves from her because of how close she still is with Willam.
