Hang on a minute, are Drag Race legends Brooke Lynn Hytes and Tynomi Banks dating?

In the Canada drag scene and now the world stage, you don’t really get more legendary than Drag Race alumni Brooke Lynn Hytes and Tynomi Banks. Brooke met the world as a contestant on season 11 and nearly won her entire season of RuPaul’s Drag Race, before doing one better than winning and going on to host Canada’s Drag Race. CDR is one of the show’s most beloved and successful international versions, and on season one there was Tynomi Banks – an absolute legend to those that know her from the Canada scene. Brooke Lynn Hytes and Tynomi Banks have known each other for years and have been super close before and after the show, but now the pair of them have fans going wild after it looked like Brooke hard launched the pair as a romantic coupling.

But what is actually going on? Not everything as it seems, but here’s why people think the pair of them might be dating and why that’s actually very much not the case at all.

In a birthday post for Tynomi Banks last week, Brooke Lynn Hytes wrote “Happy birthday my love. You make everything better.” To the untrained eye, the pair of them look almost couple like in the picture shared with it. But after the post went viral and created a lot of discussion on Reddit about whether the pair of them are hard launching or not, true fans were quick to clarify this love is platonic.

When someone asked on Reddit about the status of Brooke and Tynomi’s relationship, people were quick to clarify. One wrote “they’ve been friends forever so, platonic love.” Another said “they’ve known each other forever in the Toronto gay scene, that’s it.” Another pointed out how the post looked and said “On Twitter everyone says they’re dating but it looks platonic to me.”

Because the post got out of hand with rumours, Brooke actually clarified herself “Y’all, that’s my sister. I’ve known her going on 20 years. Chill.”
