Guys, you need to watch the full video of the beatboxing nun who spat bars on TV

God forbid a nun catches a vibe

A clip of a beatboxing nun has blown up after she spat bars on a Catholic TV channel. You read that correctly.

Sisters Marizele Cassiano and Marisa de Paula appeared on a Brazilian TV show on May 20th to talk about a vocational retreat when they brought up a song that explored turning to religion.

The pair then stood up to deliver a beatbox and dance session, with the music so infectious that even the host got on their feet to join in.

With Sister Marizele on the mic, she flips from vocals to a fire beatbox, whilst Sister Marisa busted out a quick jig in a clip that’s now been seen by millions of people worldwide. And can I just say, she doesn’t miss a single beat. The show’s presenter, Deacon Giovani Bastos, also joined in the same rhythm and the whole thing is just a massive vibe.

According to Sister Marizele, Marisa isn’t shy on her feet and can’t resist getting up to dance when she’s given a tune. Speaking about the jam session, the beatboxing nun told The Associated Press: “That moment was very spontaneous, because with Sister Marisa, if you start a beat, she will dance. And I’m used to singing, to beatboxing, so for us it was very simple, spontaneous and at the same time very surprising to see that it went viral even outside Brazil.”

One user commented on the viral clip, which has over 18 million views on TikTok, read: “God forbid a nun catch a vibe.”

Another simply said: “You know what? Heaven yeah!”

In the full clip, Sister Marizele continues to beatbox whilst they sing with the hosts. It’s all very wholesome to be honest.

The Sisters both work with young people and have dedicated themselves to improving the lives of those in their community. They explained that music is really powerful in conveying messages and helping those in need.

Sister Marizele Cassiano added: “Beatboxing, dancing, and the songs itself, are tools that God uses to reach the hearts of the people we work with. And it works! It’s beautiful to see.”

The iconic dup also work as vocation promoters, organising retreats for women interested in pursuing a religious career.

Unfortunately Sister Marisa has no Instagram account, however Sister Marizele has gained over 100,000 followers since her beatboxing went viral.

The clip has since been compared to the performing nuns in the 1992 Whoopi Goldberg movie Sister Act.
