Clip shows chaos as flight attendant throat punches a passenger who had attacked a woman

Truly bonkers footage captured the intense moment a flight attendant smashed a man repeatedly in the throat after the passenger started “rocking back and forth” and proceeded to attack the woman next to him.

Apparently, it’s been a month for crazy aeroplane experiences because the influencer who refused to give her seat to a crying toddler is now suing the airline. Soon after, a flight attendant shared the three plane habits she thinks should be illegal.

This latest example of why planes are literally the worst mode of public transport took place in February on an Alaska Airlines flight in Oakland, California. It has since gone viral on TikTok and Twitter- take a look.

Passengers on board Flight 2221 from Oakland International Airport to Portland, Oregon, had literally no idea they were about to witness a graphic fight between a fellow passenger and a flight attendant.

In footage initially shared by Twitter user @walterizzle, you could see a male flight attendant repeatedly smacking a passenger in the throat. Other passengers and employees attempted to help as “let go of her hair sir” could be heard from someone on the plane. After the woman was safely removed from her seat, the male flight attendant took her place just as the unidentified man began thrashing and screaming.

Little context was given in the actual video but in a thread @walterizzle further explained the situation: “We were about to take off from OAK to PDX but this dude started saying weird stuff and rocking back and forth. A flight attendant was called then he grabbed the woman’s hair in front of him and wouldn’t let go so the flight attendant started punching him in the throat.

“He was restrained for several minutes before being arrested. The flight was cancelled after an attendant refused to fly and could not be replaced. One lady said he said he was an alcoholic on five medications before he started repeating himself and glitching out.”

The woman who was attacked spoke out

Following the horrid interaction, the women issued a statement on social media according to the MailOnline.

She reportedly said: “Thank you for this video. I am the woman whose hair was grabbed. My hair was not in anyone’s way to provoke anyone to grab it. The man was having a psychotic episode, banged his head multiple times on the back of my seat, shortly lost consciousness, regained consciousness and grabbed my hair close to the scalp.

“Had I leaned forward with him grabbing my hair, he could have pulled my hair out. I was afraid this man was going to punch me in the head and I am thankful for the FA and other passengers who stepped in to help.”

Alaska Airlines also issued a statement, telling the publication: “Our flight attendants’ highest responsibility is the safety of guests and crew on board. Our crew responded to this chaotic situation quickly and kept all guests safe until law enforcement could intervene.”
