Harry Potter actor resorts to starting unexpectedly niche OnlyFans account to ‘get out of debt’

You’d expect starring in the Harry Potter franchise would set you up for life? But apparently not. One iconic Harry Potter star is resorting to OnlyFans to “put time” into “self-love”, and hopefully make “big bucks”.

Jessie Cave portrayed Lavender Brown in the last three Harry Potter films and two of the video games. She announced she will be starting an OnlyFans account which specialises in a very niche kind of content: hair fetishes.

She explained on her Instagram: “I’m starting an OnlyFans. Hair stuff. It needs the best quality hair sounds. It needs you to hear the brushing.” In the video, someone suggests she uses a microphone to record the noises. Jessie responds that she can’t afford a microphone.

On her Substack newsletter, Jessie revealed the real reason why she’s suddenly starting an OnlyFans.

She wrote: “I’ll try for one year. My aim? To get the house safe, cover the arsenic/lead wallpaper, build a new roof etc. My aim? To get out of debt. My aim? To empower myself? To prove to those in the past who have misjudged me that I’m not so sweet? To put time into something I never invested in before: self-love.”

Jessie does not consider this type of content explicitly sexual. She clarified on Instagram that she’s “going for a very pure aesthetic” but the videos would be “very sensual”.

The Harry Potter star said on her podcast: “I’m launching an OnlyFans. It’s not a sexual one. It’s a fetish. Fetish doesn’t necessarily mean sexual.”

The Cambridge Dictionary does define the term “fetish” as “a sexual interest in an object or a part of the body other than the sexual organs”, or a type of amulet.  But I guess she’s entitled to her opinion?

Since her stint in Harry Potter, Jessie Cave has appeared in Black Mirror, Call the Midwife and Richard Osman’s House of Games. She’s been in a relationship with the comedian Alfie Brown since 2014. The couple have four kids together.
