Curtis Pritchard’s mum speaks out after he claimed to have ‘cut her off’ on Love Island

Curtis Pritchard’s mum Debi has reacted to her son’s time in Love Island just days after he claimed to have cut her off “just because she was being a mum.” Brutal.

Last week, in yet another instalment of the Curtis and Ekin-Su soap opera, the couple got into an argument as Ekin-Su accused her boyfriend of betraying her. When Ekin-Su confessed to wanting her mum and dad, Curtis dropped one hell of a truth bomb in the most random way.

“I cut my mum out of my life at one point,” Curtis revealed. “Just because she was being a mum. And I needed to just grow up, and just be myself, and learn things for myself. And now I’m back in contact with her, and stuff. And I finally actually spoke to her, and stuff.”

It was all very strange, but now Debi has commented on her son’s second Love Island attempt.

“So I would never usually come on social media, but we all love Love Island for its drama, but tonight, I just want to put it out there that I’m so so proud of Curtis Pritchard for staying so calm,” she said. “Well done, Curtis.”

Though she didn’t explicitly state as such, the “so calm” comment could suggest Debi was referring to her son’s tense exchange with Elma Pazar. During Tuesday’s episode, Elma and Sammy Root suggested Ekin-Su and Curtis were the weakest couple of the cast because of their many (many) “ups and downs.”

The heated verbal tussle was absolutely ridiculous, as former Islander Scott van-der-Sluis put it, and ended when Elma told Curtis to “f**k off” and “go make a f***ing coffee.”

Debi has supported her son during his second Love Island appearance, celebrating his birthday earlier on in the week and posting some of his best moments. Her entire Instagram looks like an AJ and Curtis Pritchard fan page and it’s kinda adorable.

Unfortunately, Debi has yet to address Curtis’ major truth bomb about cutting her off but I’m kinda hoping she does because there is definitely a story there. We need both sides!
