‘Bit of a fruitcake’: Ex-Islander shares what Ekin-Su is really like when cameras stop rolling

Though Ekin-Su is undoubtedly one of the more controversial Islanders in this year’s All Stars, Ron Hall has now claimed that she is “such a lovely person” when the cameras aren’t around.

Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu first graced our TV screens in season eight of Love Island but she has since gone on to appear in The Traitors US, Dancing on Ice, and Celebrity Big Brother. I like to think we know her pretty well at this point, even if her personality is somewhat grating.

But, according to dumped Islander Ron Hall, she simply knows how to “switch it on for the camera” and her real personality is much more “sweet.” Here’s what he said.

Ron Hall says Ekin-Su is ‘so so sweet’

Throughout Love Island All Stars season two, we’ve watched Ekin-Su drench Curtis Pritchard with a drink, fight with the other Islanders, and miraculously cry without any tears. That Turkish soap opera past really comes in handy.

Ron, who voluntarily left the South African villa on day 22, is now watching the rest of the show from the comfort of his home like the rest of us. He took to Instagram to share his thoughts after the public vote revealed that Ekin-Su and Curtis were the least compatible couple.

“Ekin is very very misunderstood,” he said before seemingly suggesting that Ekin-Su puts on an act for the cameras. “Yes, she knows how to switch it on for the camera, that’s like her job, but she is such a lovely person. You know, sometimes she can be a little bit of a fruitcake, but she’s so lovely and means well.”

Ron also recalled the many close conversations they had in the Love Island All Stars villa before he ditched the show because “he just couldn’t find a single spark.”

“I just think she had a really difficult past and I remember the conversations I and her had in there all the time, she’s so so sweet. I actually really really do like her,” he added.

Will the real Ekin-Su please stand up.
