The viral simple fix to stop your PlayStation 5 controller battery constantly dying

This tiny hack makes a huge difference

Having a PlayStation 5 is still like having the shiny new toy that nobody else in your class got for Christmas. However, the elite gaming experience is often hindered by the fact that your controller lasts for about five seconds. It seems to be the case for so many PlayStation 5 users that your controller battery just won’t last as long as you want it to unless you plug it into the machine, which takes away from the whole wireless experience, although it will reduce latency.

Don’t panic, there are two very simple changes you can make in your settings that will help your battery last a lot longer and prevent any more disruptions in your gameplay.

The Sun has revealed the simple ways in which you can boost your DualSense battery life and stop it from dying so quickly.

Firstly, you need to set the controller to automatically switch off when you’re not using it. This can be done by going into your settings, selecting system and then power saving.

Secondly, turn off your mic when you’re not using it and you’ll notice a significant difference. You might not have realised the huge effect having your mic constantly on is doing to your battery life. It’s a very speedy battery drainer!

These two changes should make a huge difference already, but there’s a third that can also help keep the battery use down. Reducing the intensity of the haptic feedback is also beneficial, and you can do this by heading to the control centre, selecting accessories followed by DualSense wireless controller. Then, select controller settings, followed by vibration intensity and finally, trigger effect intensity. Try it and watch the magic work for yourself!
