The Traitors’ Leanne opens up about ‘scary’ day her twins were born dangerously early

Her journey to motherhood wasn’t easy

Ex-Army soldier Leanne Quigley was crowned the winner of The Traitors after voting out her bestie Frankie, who she often opened up to about her children.

In the final episode, we saw Frankie try to convince her she was a Faithful by speaking mother to mother, but Leanne’s journey to becoming a mum wasn’t easy.

After going through IVF to welcome a baby with her partner Sophie, she fell pregnant with twin boys, who were born more than three months early.

“I went through IVF with my boys, and I was very poorly throughout my pregnancy, and then I went into early labour at six months. The boys were only 26 weeks when they were born,” she told Metro.

Hudson and Harley are now happy, healthy two-year-olds, but Leanne feels like she missed out on the entire newborn stage.

“I feel I missed out on enjoying that newborn stage. I’m so so grateful to have them, and I’m so lucky that they’re alive. I would love the opportunity to have another baby.”

“When they did come home from hospital after three months, they come home on oxygen, and it was a struggle to take them out,” she continued.

“On the 9th January our baby boys decided they wanted to come into the world three and a half months early,” the 28-year-old wrote on Instagram when they were born.

“What should have been the best day of my life was actually the scariest. They are the most precious, beautiful, tiniest little babies I have ever seen in my life and I’m so proud of how much they are fighting every single day.”

“We took some time to figure out if we should share our news, but our babies are here fighting and they deserve all the love and prayers they can get.”

Leanne said she would love the opportunity to have another baby and hopefully “have a bit of a better experience” and hopes to spend some of the prize money on more IVF in the future.

She has had a difficult year as her partner Sophie was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer just weeks after she got home from filming The Traitors.

Sophie found out she was cancer-free in January and Leanne wrote on Instagram: “Today we begin to truly celebrate us, our boys, and the excitement of the rest of our lives.”
