The Traitors’ Leanne was affected by a sad health diagnosis weeks after winning the show

She is in ‘awe’ of her partner’s ‘strength’

Leanne Quigley won The Traitors alongside Jake Brown, but she didn’t have long to enjoy her share of the £94,600 prize pot.

Just weeks after finishing filming for the reality show in July, her fiancé Sophie was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer.

“On the 31st July 2024 my partner, and the mother of my children was diagnosed with grade three breast cancer,” she wrote on Instagram.

Leanne said watching the person you love fight through chemotherapy is “up there with the worst things on Earth”.

“We quickly learnt to never take anything for granted ever again, and sadly had to learn that tomorrow is never promised and fear of the unknown literally killed us inside.”

The 28-year-old told Metro that Sophie found a lump about a month after she got back from Scotland and “it all happened very quickly from there”.

“I would never, ever have gone away to film if Soph had cancer. We found out weeks after I got home.”

After a scary six-month battle, Sophie was told she was cancer-free on January 8th and Leanne shared the happy news.

“I cannot express or put in to words how proud I am, and how in awe I am of her strength every single day,” she said.  “Today we begin to truly celebrate us, our boys, and the excitement of the rest of our lives.”

She thanked the NHS for “quite literally saving my whole family” and added that they are “so lucky to be surrounded by the most incredible family and friends”.

“For anybody fighting, or for anybody watching their loved ones fight this horrible disease. I see you and I feel you. Please don’t give up.”

It’s not the first health battle the couple has faced, because Leanne was really unwell when she gave birth to their twin sons Hudson and Harley in January 2023.

After going through IVF, she went into labour at just 26 weeks old and the babies spent the first three months of their lives in intensive care.

She would love to give the twins more siblings in the future, especially because she feels as though she missed out on their early days.

“I was so poorly at the time I feel I missed out on enjoying that newborn stage. I’m so so grateful to have them, and I’m so lucky that they’re alive,” Leanne said.

“I would love the opportunity to have another baby, hopefully have a bit of a better experience. And to make our family a bit bigger.”
