Donald Trump has a dedicated Diet Coke button at The White House, but what does pressing it do?

I need this in my life

You might have seen it in pictures or even heard whispers of the true purpose of this button, but it’s been confirmed that Donald Trump reinstalled his Diet Coke button at The White House.

The tiny red button is embedded in a wooden box that’s directly next to Donald’s chair, but what exactly happens when he presses it? Let’s find out!

Well, as you might have guessed when Donald Trump presses that red Diet Coke button it alerts his White House butlers that the beverage is immediately required in the Oval House, with one appearing in mere seconds on a silver platter no less.

Apparently, he’s a bit of a Diet Coke fiend, reportedly drinking up to 12 cans per day which beats my personal best by a significant amount.

The button was removed by Joe Biden in 2021, as reported visitors to The White House kept mistaking it for the nuclear release button. Yeah, you definitely don’t want to get the Diet Coke and nuclear launch release buttons mixed up.

Even Donald was aware of what the button looked like, telling the Financial Times in 2017 that “everyone does get a little nervous when I press that button.”

In the 2019 book, Team of Vipers, written by former White House aide Chris Sims, the use of the button was explained in more detail. Chris described how Donald Trump would suddenly press the Diet Coke button, leaving his guests in a slight state of panic before a butler would enter with the drink on a silver platter.

He wrote: “Out of nowhere, he’d suddenly press the button. Not sure what to do, guests would look at one another with raised eyebrows. Moments later, a steward would enter the room carrying a glass filled with Diet Coke on a silver platter, and Trump would burst out laughing.”

Honestly, I reckon I’d just be pressing that button all day, there really are few things in life as good as a glass of Diet Coke with ice and lemon. Might go and grab myself one now.
