Mandy Moore claps back at criticism after asking for donations to her family amid LA wildfires

‘Kindly F OFF’

Actress Mandy Moore has savagely clapped back against those criticising her decision to ask her followers to donate money to her relatives after the LA wildfires impacted their house.

Mandy Moore explained on Instagram the impact the LA wildfires have had on her house, writing: “Miraculously, the main part of our house is still standing. For now.

“It’s not livable but mostly intact. We lost Taylor and Griffin’s studio with every instrument and piece of equipment they’ve ever owned. We lost our garage and back house.”

Mandy Moore then shared a link to a GoFundMe page for her brother and his wife, where they were asking for $60k in total donations to help them rebuild their house following the LA wildfires. The total amount of donations raised now exceeds $200,000.

She wrote: “Yesterday, my brother-in-law and sister-in-law Griff & Kit lost their home and everything they own in the Eaton Fire. With their first baby on the way in a matter of weeks, they need our support now more than ever.”

She continued: “Griff is a touring musician and also lost his entire arsenal of drums/percussion he uses to make a living. It’s all so much. So many have asked how to help during this unimaginable and stressful time…Please consider donating and sharing to help them rebuild.”

However, following the post she received a serious amount of backlash from her followers who were confused about why she was asking her followers to donate to her own family when she’s very wealthy herself. One follower angrily commented: “You can’t help them? You’re millionaires????”

Following the widespread criticism, Mandy responded, asking people to “kindly f off” and telling them they’re not being “forced to do anything.”

She replied: “And people questioning whether we’re helping out our own family or attributing some arbitrary amount of money Google says someone has is NOT helpful or empathetic. Of course we are.

“Our buddy Matt started this GoFundMe and I’m sharing because people have asked how they can help them. We just lost most of our life in a fire too. Kindly F OFF. No one is forcing you to do anything.”
