Bournemouth’s Women’s Rights March
On Saturday 18th January, there will be Women’s Rights Marches across the United Kingdom
Thousands of women and supporters are set to march in support of women’s rights, specifically surrounding healthcare and anti-abortion legislations. This will occur across the United Kingdom, ahead of Donald Trump’s inauguration.
Led by Grassroots Feminism, a march organiser, Carolyn Storer, posted to the official Facebook page a detail account of the mission statement,
‘As a result of Donald Trump taking the presidency in January 2025, and Nigel Farage picking up the anti-abortion mantle here in the UK, it’s time to make our voices heard.
‘We are not free until all women are free’
Within the post, Carolyn continued to state the mission objectives and reinforce that the marches are a safe, and inclusive space for all women,
‘We aim to raise awareness of the extensive and growing inequalities and diminishing rights faced by women globally’
‘Our feminism is intersectional’ is a closing statement made by Carolyn, bringing focus onto the minorities subjected to antifeminist acts. The post urges the acknowledgement of ‘these differences for feminism to work’.
