Ranking all Netflix’s Black Doves characters by how despicably evil they truly are

What a show, what a time we had – binging this one, eh? I love when a Netflix show comes from nowhere and has us all chomping a the bit for every episode. Such was the case with Black Doves, a show impossible to turn off and go to bed when watching. The whole cast smashed it – and I loved how it cast actors you wouldn’t associate with spy action (except maybe Ben Whishaw) in full throttle chaos. All of the characters in Black Doves feel treacherous and slippery to an extent, but here is a thorough ranking of who is the most evil.

9. Michael

Literally the only character on this show who I’d say isn’t evil. Michael and Helen’s kids, although their Tory upbringing might birth some evil in the future. Who knows.

8. Helen

Helen is cold, savage and ruthless – but she isn’t EVIL. Some of her deeds are evil, but she is somewhat principled and I’d say she’s more heartless than she is evil. Not quite as cold as the triggermen. Plus, we love her.

7. Sam

Sam has put people through the wringer because of his career choices. Whilst he is a very cold and emotionally numb man, he does have a code of conduct and you can tell he cares about some things more than the job. Not evil but also not a cuddly teddy bear either. It is Black Doves, after all.

I actually need to queen out with her as a matter of urgency. If there’s one character on this show I got obsessed with it’s Williams – mad considering she literally tried to kill queen Helen and then becomes a hero. Cherish her, but she’s evil in the sense that she’d probably kill me in seconds.

Can’t forgive his betrayal. Or the shocking acting. Truly evil.

4. Lenny

Outwardly lovely and a really fun take on a proper east end London gangster, Lenny is charming in the way her evil just lurks underneath. You’re instantly shit scared of crossing her, and it gives her such a menacing evil aura.

I’m sorry but the way she made them moves into Helen’s life… Surely everyone’s worst, paranoid nightmare. I know it’s just a job and she was sent there by Reed but my GOD what a cold hearted evil diva.

An utter icon, but surely far and away the most evil and cold hearted icon in this entire show. Of all the characters on this Black Doves ranking, it is Reed who sees people as the most expendable. Like, sure – she does have a fondness for them. But that fondness can never beat her dedication to getting what she wants. Ice cold from Sarah Lancashire.
