The real life ages of the Heartbreak High cast, compared to their characters’ in the show

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve likely heard of or are obsessed with Heartbreak High. Despite the remake being set down under at Hartley High, many of the so-called students left the heartbreak, the highs (and the lows) of high school behind many years ago. Despite the ages of characters never being directly stated in the show, it is assumed that all characters are in year 11 in the Australian School system, making them only 16t o 17 years old. But in reality, some of the cast are pushing 30.

Amerie – Ayesha Meadon

Ayesha Meadon, who plays Amerie, is 26 years old, making her a whole decade older than her character Amerie in season one. If only she used some of that elderly wisdom in the show to hinder her (at times) terrible decision making.

Harper – Asher Yasbineck

Asher Yasbineck plays Harper, a troubled yet strong member of Hartley High. Asher is 22, making her five years older than her 17-year-old counterpart, who successfully gained her drivers license in season two.

Ca$h – Will McDonald

Australia’s favorite eshay , Ca$h, is played by the 25-year-old Will McDonald. However, in the show, Ca$h is a year 12 making him roughly 17 or 18 years old.

Hartley High newbie Malakai is portrayed by Thomas Weatherall, who is 23 years old. The love struck 17-year-old recently embarked on his European adventures at the end of season two, leaving all viewers waiting patiently for his return in season three. I can speak for all when I say I’m still angry that Amerie didn’t get chance to read his letter.

Quinni – Chloe Hayden

Quinni is played by 26-year-old Chloe Hayden, who actually got married to her spouse, Dylan Rohan, earlier this year! In the show, Quinni is around 16 to 17 years old.

Dusty – Joshua Houston

After a while, old things get DUSTY. Which brings us onto Hartley high’s biggest playboy, Dusty, played by 27-year-old Joshua Houston, the oldest cast member playing a student in the show. In Heartbreak High, Dusty is around 17 years old, a decade younger than Joshua himself.

Darren – James Majoos

Fan favourite, Darren, is actually played by 26-year-old James Majoos. In the show, Darren is also a year 11 student, placing him at around 17 years old. This makes James a whopping 10 years older than their on screen character. He looks fantastic and must drop the skincare routine ASAP.

Rowan – Sam Wrechner

New to season two, 17-year-old Rowan came to start a riot at Hartley High, and that’s exactly what he did. He was played by Sam Wrechner, who is 22.

Spider – Bryn Chapman Parish

Bad boy gone good (or so we hope), Spider is played by 26-year-old Bryn Chapman Parish. Lets hope the 17-year-old doesn’t crawl back to his old ways in the new season..

Woodsy – Rachael House

The age of headteacher Woodsy is supposedly around 50 years old. A few wrinkles are part of the job description at Hartley High, given all the drama that unfolds behind the school gates. For a start, being locked out of your own office during a student protest is bound to cause some stress lines. Despite this, 52-year-old Rachael House looks flawless in her role; not a forehead wrinkle in sight!

Mr Voss – Angus Simpson

Leader of the cumlords and PE Teacher Mr Voss’ career ended in flames (literally). Possibly the worst staff member at the school, his character age remains unknown but is played by the 45-year-old Angus Simpson.

Jojo – Chika Ikogwe

English teacher turned SLT expert, Jojo is the saving grace of Hartley High, and really has her work cut out. Her age is not revealed in the show, but she is played by Chika Ikogwe, who chooses to keep her birth year private but was born on September 23rd.
