The Traitors advice

Every bit of advice last year’s cast of The Traitors has given this year’s bunch

‘You don’t need to solve the game by day three, you need to put yourself in a position not to be murdered’

| UPDATED

The Traitors season one was quite literally a cultural phenomenon, and was all anybody was talking about. The cast of season one went in blind and they made history – they had no idea what to expect or how to play. But now we’re on to season two, the cast of the first series have lived it and various cast members have given out hints, tips and advice to the new cast of season two to help them succeed on The Traitors. Here’s a roundup of all the advice the iconic season one cast have dished out to the new batch on The Traitors!

Wilf

Wilf nearly won it all as the last Traitor standing. In some advice he shared with Digital Spy, Wilf said “Sticking to your game plan is the main thing. I think working as a team for as long as you can is important — power in numbers. If you’ve got three people there, you’ve got a good majority. If you start getting rid of Traitors early on, you’re getting rid of your votes as well.”

He also spilled more on being famously ruthless, even with fellow Traitors .”I just don’t think the game is cut out for multiple Traitors getting to the end,” he explained. “I just don’t think there is. You have to traitor the Traitors at some point, but to stay as a team initially, for at least half of the show, is really important.”

Ivan

Ivan was the roundtable casualty of the chaotic “Red Breakfast” episode of The Traitors season one. He’s given some advice for the new cast of The Traitors also, saying “The biggest piece of advice is to watch out for confirmation bias. It is really easy to come to conclusions quickly, as humans we all do it. We come to conclusions quickly and look for evidence to support those conclusions

“A lot of things we are seeing in season two we saw in season one. You come up with a world view that these three people are traitors and the rest are faithful. And then absolutely anything you see confirms that it doesn’t help.

“This game, despite it being social deduction, is a single-player survival game. You don’t need to solve the game by day three, you need to put yourself in a position not to be murdered and not put yourself in a position to be banished.”

Hannah

The constantly fuming comedian Hannah went on to win The Traitors as a Faithful, and gave some advice to the new lot on BBC Breakfast. Hannah says “I think it’s going to be worse for them because they’re going to think they know what they’re letting themselves in for and be like, “I know the game”, but having been in it, the game is not as we remember it at all, it’s going to change.

“When I went in I desperately wanted to be a traitor. So when I found out I wasn’t going to be I was absolutely raging, I couldn’t believe it, I was annoyed. I had it in my head that, “I’m going to throw everyone under the bus, it’s going to be brilliant’. And then I realised I couldn’t so my game plan was then just not look for traitors, let somebody else do it. And I’ll just relax and enjoy myself.”

Theo shared some advice with Pink News about how the real trick to getting the end is just enjoying yourself. “I think the best way to play the game is to not play the game. When you start to play the game, you get on the Traitors radar. If you notice me, Meryl and Hannah we didn’t play that much. We just showed up and had a good day. Which obviously worked in their favour, because they’re 50 grand up!”
