Lancaster Bus Station roadworks cause disruption to popular student bus routes
The emergency roadworks outside the station are anticipated to take considerable time
Major disruption is being caused at Lancaster bus station by emergency roadworks.
This has meant that stands 12 through 20 at the bus station have been closed.
The 1, 1A and 100 service will not stop at Lancaster bus station in directions to Morecambe and Heysham or to Lancaster University.
Instead, University bound services will stop at Parliament Street, then George Street. Morecambe and Heysham bound services will serve George Street, then Lancaster Sainsbury’s.
Lancaster City Council said: “Due to ongoing emergency works on the road outside Lancaster Bus Station, stands 12 through to 20 will be closed until further notice. Please check the Stagecoach website for details of affected services here.”
Other services being affected are the 40 and 41 services to Morecambe, which will not stop at Lancaster bus station. The 2X service between Morecambe bus station and Lancaster University will stop at Chapel Street.
These disruptions will continue until further notice. However, it’s anticipated the roadwork repairs are likely to take considerable time.
