It lasted 86 days: A full timeline of Sabrina and Steven’s failed Love Is Blind UK marriage
When they were married, Steven was living in a London flat share and hardly travelled to Belfast
Ever since the Love Is Blind UK reunion, nobody has stopped talking about Steven and Sabrina. We thought we were going to get the loved up new Mr and Mrs Smith on the sofa next to Matt and Emma Willis, but instead we were told the news they had broken up.
Since then, through their interviews and the show, we’ve all being desperately trying to work out where it went wrong for the couple. In parts they’ve given a lot of insight into their failed marriage, so here’s a timeline of it all together.
The Love Is Blind UK couple got married in September 2023
Love Is Blind UK came out on Netflix a long time after the show was actually filmed. It’s been confirmed Steven and Sabrina got married for the show in September 2023, so nearly a year has passed.
Steven was living in a flat share, and Sabrina was visiting London much more than he came to Belfast
Commenting on a TikTok video, Sabrina has shared a little bit more insight into what life was like for the couple when they were together. After their wedding, they were thrown back into “normal” life, which meant Sabrina was living in Belfast and Steven was living in London. The newly married couple were doing long distance.

Sabrina said Steven was living in a flat share in London, which made things difficult. “It’s not as easy as just get up and go,” she said in a post. “Steven rented a room in a flat share so I obviously couldn’t move in there. And he wasn’t in a position for us to get a place together at that point.

“I also own my own place so would have to ensure mortgage etc was covered. So we agreed we’d split our time between the two and figure it out together.
“I made sure we didn’t go two weeks without seeing each other. Distance was not an issue. It only became an issue when the effort wasn’t reciprocated.”
After 86 days, the couple split up
Despite what Sabrina said about distance not being the main issue, the couple then split, and at the reunion Steven pinned the reason behind this on them being far away from each other. However, during the episode, Sabrina seemed to say the fault was with Steven, and called him out for his lack of effort and communication.
She said his communication with her was none existent, and it was always her visiting London and making changes to her life to help him. Steven argued otherwise and said that wasnât actually the case, but didnât give much more of an explanation of his side of the story. He briefly mentioned his finances, quitting his job and something going on in his family, which all played a part in it not working out between them.
In an interview, Sabrina said she “thought she was leaving the experiment with a husband” but their relationship in fact lasted just 86 days.
She told The Mirror: âFor me, I married Steven because I genuinely believed he was my person, and I will always love that person that he was throughout filming. But unfortunately, that just didnât translate into the real world and when the cameras had stopped rolling.
âThere were a lot of promises made before we got married that, once we were married, he wasnât able to deliver on. Even through that all, I really, really tried to make it work. I travelled back and forth to London and I prioritised us and I just didnât get the same respect or commitment in return.
âSo when it was his turn to show up at Christmas, he didnât. And at that point, I realised I had to choose myself, because a marriage has to be a partnership and it has to work both ways.â
Sabrina has spoken about the split, and said she is now in therapy
Speaking out about her split from Steven after Love Is Blind, Sabrina said she has since been diagnosed with depression and is now in therapy. âIt was incredibly difficult. It had a really bad effect on me emotionally, mentally and physically,â she said. âI was diagnosed with depression, I had a lot of anticipatory grief for the life we were meant to have together.
âThat was really hard to come to terms with, because for me it was legit, it was real and I had this whole life planned out with this person. So that was really difficult to let go of. Youâre almost mourning something that hasnât even happened yet.
âI isolated myself from my friends for a long time out of embarrassment. Iâve asked them all to come to the wedding and then 86 days later Iâm like, âYeah, it didnât work out.â So I just took a lot of time to work on myself. Did a lot of therapy, still doing therapy. And did some solo travelling and gradually started to get back to myself.â
Steven confirmed right now they are trying to get their Love Is Blind marriage annulled
Now, in an interview with the BBC, Steven has told more of his side of the story. Steven said he has âno regretsâ about how he was during the Love Is Blind UK experiment, and opened up about his âsadâ split from Sabrina.
âWe took a gamble, we took a leap of faith and it just didnât work out,â he told the publication. He said he felt a âbit hurtâ by how badly he came across at the reunion, in which Sabrina blamed the majority of their split on his behaviour after the wedding. âI know who I am and my friends and family know and thatâs all that matters,â Steven added.
Speaking about how distance did play a large part in their ultimate split, he said them living far apart made âsmall problems become bigger problemsâ and added:Â âWe separated and it just didnât work, we werenât compatible in real life.â
He said: âIâve been trying to find the beauty in the experiment⌠but obviously there are some sad times in there obviously knowing the outcome.â The couple are now seeking an annulment.
In October, Sabrina is throwing herself a ‘thank god I’m not married party’
@cosmopolitanuk Although Sabrinaâs marriage with Stephen broke down, she reflects on the positives that came out of going on Love Is Blind UK 𼰠#loveisblind #netflix #divorceparty
In quite an iconic move, Sabrina has said that in October, over a year since she said yes at the altar, she has planned a “thank god I’m not married party” in Greece. “I’ve invited everyone who came to the wedding and [I’m] paying for them to come to Greece,” she told Cosmo.
She said she “feels bad” for the guests who attended the initial wedding, including her brother who travelled there all the way from Korea, so this is her way “of saying thank you for supporting me and I’m sorry.”
