Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone are never not having an awards show moment. At this year’s Baftas when Emma headed to the stage to collect her award for Best Actress, Ryan gave her a big old wink, and sent the internet into meltdown in the process.

Similarly last weekend at the 96th Academy Awards, when Ryan belted out I’m Just Ken and sidled over to Emma to get her to sing with him— we all lost the plot for a second time. Quickly, La La Land edits (“I’ll see you in the movies”) littered our timelines. Evidently, this is an on-screen pairing we’re never getting over.

I’ll be totally honest with you, I didn’t even realise this film existed until last week. It’s giving Romeo and Juliet: Mob edition vibes. Emma plays Grace, a woman mixed up with notorious crime bosses who run a criminal empire who falls for Sgt. Jerry Wooters (Ryan) – a member of the L.A.P.D. Their forbidden romance is hot. But it’s not a mind-altering classic.

La La Land – Mia and Seb

Now, let’s get real— this almost took the top spot. From the moment Mia and Seb start pissing each other off at various LA parties you can feel the sparks flying. But, the conclusion to their romance is (sob) more one that got away energy than bonded-for-life chemistry. More sad than sexy. Cry.

Crazy, Stupid, Love – Hannah and Jacob

Taking the top spot for chemistry is undoubtedly Crazy, Stupid, Love. Hannah totally flips Jacobs opinions on what a relationship should be and what he’s equipped to handle. Plus, lest we forget the topless Dirty Dancing lift. Lives were changed. Hannah and Jacob are soulmates, end of.
