AI stairway to heaven TikTok

Here’s how to do the new staircase TikTok trend that tells you how close you are to death

Some people literally just got a door so RIP I guess

TikTok absolutely LOVES a trend and a new filter to procrastinate with for hours. Most recently it was the ’90s yearbook trend where the filter would turn you into what you’d look like if you went to an American high school two decades ago and it was such a vibe. And before that, we’ve had all kinds of girly things such as girl maths, girl dinner and girl ethics.

But the newest trend, the AI stairway to heaven, is much more morbid and actually tells you how close you are to death. Fitting for Halloween, I guess?

So what actually is the new AI stairway to heaven TikTok trend and how does it tell you how close you are to death?

Basically, the trend is a new TikTok AI filter that tells you how close you are to death. The filter takes a picture of your room or surroundings and with AI technology turns it into a heavenly-looking staircase. Then the longer the staircase you get, the longer you have to live. But some people have been getting just a picture of a door so if you get that I’d advise against doing anything potentially dangerous because yikes.

This person obviously has a long life ahead of them because their stair case is looong and windy. Some other people have also got downwards stairs and fire so, you know good luck to them.

Right, but how do you actually get the AI stairway to heaven filter?

The filter is available directly on TikTok so you don’t have to faff around with any other apps to tell your fortune. Basically if you search “stairway to heaven” in the TikTok search bar and click on the filter that comes up as “A Wink From Heaven” you’ve got the filter.

Then press “use this effect” and take a picture of your chosen room by pressing “create”. You’ll hear some heavenly music while you wait and see whether you need to book that holiday you’ve been thinking about for two years before time runs out!

Here are some of the best examples of people working out how close they are to death with the new viral filter:

Enjoy!
