From team romances to sliding into DMs: Inside the love lives of England’s Lionesses

England’s Lionesses might have lost the World Cup, but they’ve won the hearts of the nation leaving many wondering about their love lives. With many of the Lionesses in very happy relationships, it’s nice to see these beloved ladies thrive off the pitch too. Whilst most are with people completely outside of the football world, a few of them are dating fellow sports players – even some within their own teams.

Here’s a complete guide to the Lionesses love lives, from romances found on the pitch to those dating their childhood sweethearts:

Mary Earps

Relationship status: Single

Golden Glove winner Mary Earps became a fan favourite after her performance at the World Cup, and does not appear to be dating anyone.

Beth Mead

Relationship status: In a relationship

The 28-year-old forward is dating Vivianne Miedema, fellow Arsenal teammate since 2022.  They’ve shown off their love via Instagram, sharing holiday snaps in Zakynthos and pics of their dog Rona. Vivianne herself plays for the Netherlands national team, although both of the couple were not able to play in the World Cup due to injuries.

Alessia Russo

Relationship status: Single

The Arsenal and England forward does not appear to be in a relationship, instead spending her time off-pitch travelling the world. She has also been awarded an honorary doctorate from Canterbury Christ Church University.

Ella Toone

Relationship status: In a relationship

England star Ella Toone has been dating fellow footballer Joe Bunney, who plays for Stalybridge Celtic. He’s been described as Ella’s “biggest cheerleader” and the pair have been together since 2022, after being introduced by mutual friends.

Lucy Bronze

Relationship status: Single

Although rumoured to be dating fellow Lioness Keira Walsh, this has not been confirmed, so it is possible Lucy is single.

Alex Greenwood

Relationship status: In a relationship

Alex is dating childhood sweetheart Jack O’Connell, a former Sheffield United centre-back, who she met in sixth form. There’s nothing the couple loves to do more than discuss football at home, Alex told The Guardian in 2022: “Often, at home, all Jack and I talk about is football, we watch it and analyse it all the time. People ask what I do to get away from the game but I don’t want to escape it.”

Keira Walsh

Relationship status: Single

Speculation has linked Keira and Lucy Bronze together, although neither has confirmed the rumours. They both play for England and Barcelona, and played together previously for Manchester City.

Lauren Hemp

Relationship status: Single

Lauren appears to be single, although is reportedly dating Coventry United WFC’s Ellie Butler. Neither have confirmed the relationship.

Georgia Stanway

Relationship status: In a relationship

Attacking midfielder Georgia has been with boyfriend Olly Ashall-Bott since 2018, also a fellow sportsperson. Olly is a full-back for the Toulouse Olympique rugby league team. The couple enjoy fishing together and share a home in Widnes, Cheshire.

Lauren James

Relationship status: Single

21-year-old Lauren keeps her love life private and appears to be single. The Chelsea player’s Instagram features pics of her on the pitch, showing how she separates her public and private life.

Chloe Kelly

Relationship status: In a relationship

The Manchester City player and Lioness, Chloe Kelly, has been with boyfriend Scott Moore since 2019. They share a minimalist-style home together in Manchester with their pet dog, Otis. Chloe’s beau is a greenkeeper at a golf club, although not a lot is known about how they met.

Jordan Nobbs

Relationship status: Single

It appears Jordan is not in a relationship, but she is speculated to be dating injured England captain Leah Williamson.

Rachel Daly

Relationship status: In a relationship

Daly is another Lioness with a fellow footballer partner. She’s been with Manchester United defender Millie Turner since 2021, and are parents to rescue dog Dexi. The couple were originally long-distance while Rachel played for the Houston Dash in Texas, but moved back to the UK in 2022.

Esme Morgan

Relationship status: Single

22-year-old Esme Morgan is one of the youngest on the team, and she also seems to be single. She’s also pursuing a sports science degree at Manchester Metropolitan University.

Laura Coombs

Relationship status: In a relationship

Midfielder Laura is in a long-term relationship with Sean Leyland, a barber. Little information is known about their relationship as they prefer to keep it private.

Millie Bright

Relationship status: In a relationship

Lioness and Chelsea defender has been with partner Levi Crew since 2020. American Levi is a personal trainer, owning the Levi Crew Performance Coaching brand. Through the pandemic, the couple had to endure a long-distance relationship, although they now live together in the UK.

Niamh Charles

Relationship status: Single

Chelsea and England star Niamh is also thought to be single, and there are no notable past relationships to mention.

Jess Carter

Relationship status: In a relationship

Another Lioness who found love on the pitch is Jess Carter, who has been with Germany star Ann-Katrin Berger since 2019. The two met while playing for Birmingham City FC in 2016, becoming friends and sharing a flat together, and were reunited when they both played for Chelsea in 2019.

Hannah Hampton

Relationship status: Single

Hannah, who’s an England goalkeeper, is not believed to be dating anyone.

Lotte Wubben-Moy

Relationship status: In a relationship

Defender Lotte has been public about her relationship with British cyclist Tao since 2021. They’ve been public about their support with each other, both attending the other’s tournaments, such as Tao cheering Lotte on in Moscow when Arsenal played in the qualifying rounds against PSV Vrouwen and FC Okzhetpes, and Lotte supporting her partner at the Giro d’Italia in 2021.

Ellie Roebuck

Relationship status: Single

Manchester City goalkeeper Ellie is not thought to be dating anyone.

Katie Robinson

Relationship status: Single

Katie also isn’t believed to be in a relationship right now. England’s youngest player, she is both a forward for the Lionesses and Brighton & Hove Albion.

Bethany England

Relationship status: In a relationship

Beth England has been with partner and fellow footballer Stephanie Williams, a midfielder for Oxford United WFC. They have been together since 2018, and have recently shared pics of a luxury cruise on their Instagrams. They also share a pair of golden retrievers named Buddy and Dilys.
