Derry Girls has been over for quite some time, but Netflix is allowing people to relive the emotional rollercoaster of season three all over again, as it is now available to watch on the streaming site.

It’s been a year since Derry Girls finished and left us weeping with its season finale, and the cast have been up to A LOT since then. Derry Girls skyrocketed a lot of the cast member’s into fame and they have gone onto star in various TV shows and even Hollywood blockbusters.

With season three of Derry Girls now on Netflix, here’s what the cast have been up to since it ended last year and what they’re all doing now.

Saoirse-Monica Jackson

Saoirse-Monica Jackson played Erin in Derry Girls, a character everyone could see themselves in, no matter how many times they tried to deny it. Her portrayal of Erin Quinn saw her nominated for the IFTA Gala Television Award for Best Female Performance.

Since the series ended, Saoirse-Monica has made her way to Hollywood and in 2023, she starred in DC’s The Flash. Her character is officially credited as Petty, with some DC fans believing it’s a nod to Patty Spivot, a comic book character who was also portrayed in The Flash TV series.

On the day of the movie release, the Derry Girls actor posted a scene from the film, captioning the post: “The day has finally arrived. The Flash is out for all you lovely people to go watch!!! I can honestly say it is AMAZING.

“I’m nerding out hard, bringing Patty Spivot to the big screen. I loved the experience of working on this movie and I loved working with my hilarious counterpart”

Saoirse has been spending time with her boyfriend and family since the show, and recently attended Glastonbury. “Glasto 23 with my absolute favourites,” she captioned the carousel of photos on her Instagram.

Louisa Harland

Louisa Harland portrayed the best character in Derry Girls, Orla McCool. While Louisa hasn’t been in many TV and film based projects since the show ended, she recently starred in Dancing at Lughnasa as Agnes at the Olivier Theatre in London. Her previous theatre credits include Cotton Fingers and Glass. Kill. Bluebeard. Imp.

Since the show, Louisa has been hanging out her with Derry Girls co-stars whilst living in London as she stars in Dancing at Lughnasa.

Jamie-Lee O’Donnell

I don’t think anyone could possibly imagine Michelle being played by anyone other than Jamie-Lee O’Donnell. Almost immediately after Derry Girls ended, it was announced Jamie-Lee would be starring in the Channel 4 prison drama, Screw, as Rose Gill. The series is still ongoing, with a second season set to be released this year.

In January 2023, Jamie-Lee starred in a folk horror film called Unwelcome. She acted alongside Hannah John-Kamen, Douglas Booth and Colm Meaney. The actress has been also doing modelling work and recently did a shoot with Adidas for their Lifestyle Sports campaign.

Nicola Coughlan

Nicola Coughlan shot to fame for her role as Claire in Derry Girls, which later bagged her a role on Netflix’s Bridgerton as Penelope Featherington. Nicola was starring in Bridgerton alongside Derry Girls in its final season and is set to lead the third series, which will tell the love story of Penelope and Colin Bridgerton.

In 2023, everyone was delighted to see Nicola star in the billion dollar Barbie movie alongside Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling. Her upcoming roles are in Big Mood as Maggie and in Seize Them! as Humble Joan.

The synopsis for Big Mood reads: “A series of chaotic events put Maggie and Eddie’s decade-long friendship to the test. With Maggie’s bipolar disorder making an unwelcome return, Eddie begins to question whether this friendship is really in their best interests.”

Nicola has an impressive 2.5 million followers on Instagram and often shares behind the scenes pictures from Derry Girls and Bridgerton. While the release date of Bridgerton season three hasn’t been revealed, Netflix has releases first look photos and they’re absolutely stunning.

Dylan Llewellyn

After starring in Derry Girls, Dylan played the lead role of Jack in Channel 4’s Big Boys, which explores the true story of creator Jack Rooke’s life as he navigates university life whilst grieving the loss of his father. The series was greenlit for a second season in June 2023.

Dylan has had an array of roles in various TV series since Derry Girls and most recently he starred as PC Kelby Hartford in the Death in Paraside spinoff, Beyond Paradise.

All three seasons of Derry Girls are available to watch on Netflix now. For all the latest Netflix news, drops and memes like The Holy Church of Netflix on Facebook.
