Say hello to Mal, the vibey Love Island bombshell who already has an Islander ex

Love Island 2023 is hitting differently. After a few naff seasons, it feels as though the show is back in a big way, and more dramatic than ever. Following a huge episode of chaos and violence, Maya announced two bombshells were joining the Love Island villa, one being a new girl called Mal.

Mitchel and Sammy have just been left single, and honestly, I fear the villa might burn down if the drama heats up any more. But, here we are, adding more Islanders to fuel the fires.

New Love Island 2023 bombshell Mal is 25 and from Edinburgh

Mal is 25, from Edinburgh, but currently based in London and working as a picture researcher. When asked why Love Island, Mal said: “Since I moved to London, having the balance of seeing friends, work and gym, it’s really difficult to date at the same time.

“It’s quite exhausting to date in the real world. When you strip it back to no distractions or social situations your pure focus is on people. I’m intrigued to find a connection.”

Mal has said she has no rules for her stay in the Love Island villa

Ahead of entering the villa, Mal said her friends and family have given her no rules on how she should behave.

“My parents have always supported everything I’ve ever done in my life,” she said. “My dad is very old fashioned but he’s been the best – so supportive and excited for me. I’m their only child so they say to just be myself.”

She said she thinks she’ll vibe well with the girls, in particular Molly, Jess and Ella.

She has her eyes on a few of the Islanders already

There are three Islanders in particular who have caught Mal’s eyes: Sammy, Zach and Scott. The girls better watch out!

“I do actually like Sammy,” Mal said. “I think he’s quite funny and his personality is coming out more – there is something about him I fancy. I fancy Zach as well, but I wouldn’t go in too strong on him as I feel like he’ll get a bit big for his boots because he’s had a lot of female attention. I think I’d play it cool with him. Scott seems lovely – I think he’s got really nice eyes. But I do usually go for a rugby boy not a footballer…”

She said she wants someone who is “playful and fun”, and added: “Someone who is unapologetically themselves. Life’s too short – no-one cares.”

Mal has a Love Island star among her ex boyfriends!

Guys, Mal used to date Love Island 2022 star, Jay Younger! What’s more, when he was in the villa, she had *a lot* to say about their relationship. At the time, Mal said she dated Jay for six months and described him as “brutal, cutthroat and selfish”, warning the Love Island girls to watch out.

She described how he had a “pristine and structured” lifestyle, comparing him to Joe Goldberg from YOU – all but the bit where he murders people, of course.

“He falls quite fast and is 100 percent very jealous,” she said, adding the way he dumped her was “brutal”. Mal and another ex found out they were both former flames of Jay’s and met up in London for drinks and to “compare notes”.

Speaking of her now appearing on the show, a source told The Sun: “Seeing Mal on Love Island will likely be a lot for Jay. She’s genuinely moved on, though, and doesn’t see going on the show as any kind of revenge or power move. Mal is gorgeous, single and the life of the party. She just wants her own chance at finding love.”

‘I can’t dance and I can’t sing, but I can guarantee I’ll be able to laugh them into my bed’

When asked what kind of bombshell she thinks she’s going to be, Mal pretty much said she’s going to laugh her way to success, and I’m here for it.

“I don’t have a game plan and I have never been one to be smooth with flirting,” she said. “I know I can’t flirt, I can’t dance and I can’t sing, but I can guarantee I’ll be able to laugh them into my bed. I’ve never been a flirtatious person but my energy is quite endearing and cute. I think boys think I am quite sexy but because I’m goofy, I come across as sweet and innocent. I know I won’t have to go for them – they’ll probably come for me.”

As she has been announced as part of the Love Island 2023 cast, Mal has just under 9k Instagram followers. Her feed is HUGE vibes, mainly cute outfit pics, bright colours and candid pictures in bars and restaurants. Her handle is @mallurpaal.
