Right, what is going on with Helen Flanagan and Scott Sinclair? One minute everywhere is reporting the longterm couple have called off their engagement, next thing they’re apparently back on, now they’ve split again, but Helen is on I’m A Celeb wearing her engagement ring. So, let’s get the record straight. Helen has finally clarified why she’s wearing her ring on the new show, and there has been some new news on the status of their relationship right now. So here’s a full timeline of their time together from start to finish, with where we’re up to now.

Helen Flanagan and Scott Sinclair met in 2009

The pair first started dating in 2009, when Helen was 19. Scott was playing football for Birmingham City at the time.

They share three children together

Helen and Scott share three children together, two daughters and one son. Their daughter Matilda is currently seven, whilst Delilah is four and Charlie is two.

In 2015, the pair welcomed their first child together, Matilda. After this, they moved to Scotland whilst Scott was playing football for Celtic, and this was when they welcomed their second child, Delilah. In March 2021, the couple had their third child, Charlie, who was born on Scott’s 32nd birthday.

Helen Flanagan and Scott Sinclair announced they were engaged in 2018. Helen was pregnant with their second child at the time, and they were on holiday in Disneyland Paris when Scott asked her to marry him.

In 2021, the couple bought a house together in Cheshire

After moving as a family a few times to follow Scott’s football career, the pair bought what they called their “forever home” in Cheshire, in 2021. In a post about moving in, Helen explained they had previously always rented whilst Scott was travelling for football.

Last year, after 13 years together, it was reported Helen and Scott had ended their relationship and called off their engagement. They had been due to get married next year.

It was said they had ended the relationship after hitting a “rough patch” over the summer. Helen was then first pictured without her engagement ring on the red carpet at the Pride of Britain Awards in October. Helen reportedly told her close friends and family she was “no longer with Scott.”

It was briefly reported they may have got back together

It looked as though Helen and Scott might have rekindled things, when she was pictured wearing her engagement ring during a recent holiday in Dubai. It was also reported she and Scott had been spending time together on the trip away, and they were seen together there with their children.

So, what is their relationship status now, and why is Helen wearing her engagement ring in the I’m A Celeb jungle?

Helen has confirmed that despite rumours, she and Scott are not together. Many viewers of the new All Stars version of I’m A Celeb have been left confused as to why Helen has been wearing her engagement ring in the jungle if that’s the case, but she explained she did so just to avoid having to talk about a fresh breakup.

She told OK Magazine: “We’d only just broken up, and I didn’t want everyone to be asking: ‘Where’s your ring?’ I didn’t want to talk about it… I wanted to keep it private for the kids, I didn’t want to be talking about it on the show.

“I did find that difficult, because I had all that going on in my head. He’s a very private person, while I’m an open book. But we were together for 13 years – we both needed to deal with the breakup.”

In an Instagram story where people had questioned her wearing a ring, Helen added: “I always wear it as I find it a comfort as I’m used to having a rock on my finger.”

Right now, it looks as though Helen in single – it’s been reported she’s in talks for a new season of Celebs Go Dating, and has signed up to celebrity dating app, Raya.
