Here’s where Joe from Simon Cowell: The Next Act is after not getting into the boyband
We were all rooting for him
Joe Boyle from Simon Cowell: The Next Act may not have made it into the official boyband, December 10, but he did make it into the top 16 on the Netflix competition. He’s a 19-year-old singer from Ireland who was super close to reaching the final seven members.
From Dublin, Joe grew up singing but hadn’t done much performing outside of karaoke. His dad encouraged him to try out despite Joe’s struggle to believe in himself. “People from my area don’t do things like this,” he told Simon in his audition.
Despite the initial hesitation, he followed his mantra: “If you never try, you will never know.” He’s inspired by singer Dermot Kennedy and listens to Irish folk band Kingfishr’s song Killeagh on repeat, but he admits he hates posting videos of himself singing.

Don’t worry, Joe is still singing! Even though he hates posting videos of himself singing, he isn’t giving up, and continues to share them online. He’s recently been on a boys holiday to Magaluf and has spent a lot of time travelling, including to Rome and Dubai.
He’s currently studying at Dublin City University and spends most of his time making TikTok videos, where he’s got over 12K followers. Joe is super close to his family, especially his mum, and often goes out on fun nights out with his friends.
