Ryan Murphy reveals the real reason he started casting Kim Kardashian in all his projects
He's a bit obsessed with her
Ryan Murphy and Kim Kardashian have once again joined forces for his new show, All’s Fair, but why has she suddenly started appearing in all his projects?
Well, Ryan previously explained that before he cast Kim in American Horror Story that it was because he’d pitched Kris and Kim an idea for a reality show, which didn’t exactly go down well.
He recalled to Deadline: “This show started with Dana Walden, as everything in my career has for the past 20 years.
“It started because I said I really wanted to meet Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian. Dana facilitated a dinner and I did something I’ve never done in my career, which was I brought a reality pitch.”
He continued: “It wasn’t good. I started my pitch, and I was kind of excited. For anybody in the future who pitches to Kim, you know you’ve lost Kim, when she takes to the phone.
“I finished my pitch, and I was sort of nervous. Kris said ‘that was really good, sweetie, but you should write a role for Kim’. A scripted role.”
After that Ryan Murphy cast Kim Kardashian as Siobhan Corbyn in season 12 of American Horror Story: Delicate, and she’s now one of the main roles in his new series All’s Fair.
Ryan admitted that he was very surprised when Kim agreed to work with him, explaining: “Kim did fantastic. I was so curious about her, because she has a huge life.
“She has a huge, wonderful family. I was so startled that she would agree to do this. When asked why, she said, ‘because it’s iconic and I like iconic sh*t’, which is very Kim.”
As for how Kim Kardashian felt about being approached by Ryan Murphy for All’s Fair and American Horror Story, so explained that she “really enjoyed it.”
She explained: “I obviously know the franchise and how amazing the show is and what a cult following it has, and it was an honor that he even believed in me.
“And sometimes it just takes that one person to really believe in you and give you that push, and I tried it, and I just really enjoyed the process.”
