Tyrique finally addresses where he stands with Justine after Love Island Games
'I feel like I'm in a sticky situation'
Tyrique and Justine may not have won Love Island Games, but the connection they had was worth the taking part. It was Lucinda and Isaiah who ended up winning, and while Tyrique initially planned to steal the money if he did win, he’s taken all of that back.
Last season, Justine won the show with Jack, and they dated for a while. However, that all came to an end, and she was back to try and get the crown again. She was so close, with Tyrique addressing that he wouldn’t have got as far if it wasn’t for her helping him.
He told Blavity’s Shadow and Act: “It’s still very soon. I feel like I’m in a sticky situation because it’s like, neither of us went in there for love or to try and find someone whatsoever. We just ended up finding each other and liked each other.”
He added: “But at the same time, I’m from the UK, she’s from US, not looking for anything real serious right now. We’ve had a couple of conversations. But I still see her as more than a friend. It’s kind of in the weird bracket. I’m in LA right now, she’s been with her family.”
“I’ve been chilling. We’re going to go on a couple of dates, for sure, and see what happens. No pressure. I don’t like putting pressure on these things and people get so invested and kind of ruin things. It’s my life, it’s Justine’s life, and we’ll navigate that the best way,” Ty said.
He continued: “I see her as more than a friend but if it’s anything too serious, definitely not right now. Could it be? Who knows? Slow and steady wins the race.” Tyrique also said he’d have split the money with her, despite planning to steal it for himself at the beginning.
