Inside Nick Thompson’s sweet relationship with his new girlfriend years after Love Is Blind
His marriage to Danielle fell apart three years ago
Nick Thompson has only gone and bagged himself a new girlfriend! The Love Is Blind star got divorced from his on-screen wife, Danielle Ruhl, in 2022, and appeared to stay single for three years afterwards. But as of June, Nick went Instagram-official with a blonde girl.
He took her to a film premiere, which was when co-star Shayne Jansen commented to ask if she was his new girlfriend. Nick replied, “which one? 😂 JK yes that would be her.” At that point, he didn’t tag her, but in a post a few months later, he tagged Carrie Staton.
What we do know about Carrie is Nick has willingly called her Greyson’s new mum, they’ve both been on a couples trip to Michigan, and they’ve been together for four months. She currently lives in Chicago, Illinois, which is where she grew up as a child.
According to LinkedIn, she works as an intelligence analyst for a security company and has a background in fraud investigations. Carrie also studied at Western Illinois University, which she graduated from in 2011 with a criminal justice and corrections degree.
She celebrated Nick’s 40th birthday with him back in June, just a week before he shared his first IG pic with her. They keep their relationship fairly private, which makes total sense as Nick previously told Reality Shrine he was “damaged because of a public divorce.”
Nick and his ex-wife Danielle are still friends today. She had also moved on, as of August 2024, was in a relationship with CEO John Schenkelberg, who is a finance bro, working in Fulfilment by Amazon (FBA), but she has removed all photos with him from her socials.
Nick hasn’t spoken out about how he met his new girlfriend, but he was hosting singles events just six months before letting the world know about her. Carrie appears to be a total girls’ girl, as most of her Facebook pics involve group photos with her besties.
