Love Is Blind star was convinced show was a ‘scam’ and thought they were getting abducted
It was because of one really weird rule they had to follow
Kait from Love Is Blind was convinced they were all getting scammed and “getting abducted” during filming. That’s because, at one point, they were all instructed to wear rain ponchos while eating their lunch to save them from getting any spillages on their clothes.
It’s not the first time contestants have spoken out about not thinking casting crews were legit. And now, Destiny, who worked on the season nine production crew, has shared a photo of the female cast members in their ponchos, and Kait shared her thoughts.
She wrote in the comments: “The day we ate in those ponchos in that random room I was really convinced this was all a scam and we were being abducted 😂🥲.” Destiny then replied to Kait: “Lol. Little did you know!” Co-star Megan even said the ponchos were “hilarious”.
In the past, contestants like Cole Barnett initially thought that production crews reaching out to him were a scam. Most of them get scouted on Instagram, and for some, such as season two’s Nick Thompson, he was even messaged via LinkedIn, of all places!
SK told Buzzfeed he ignored the Instagram DM requesting him to apply for a “couple of weeks”. He said: “I didn’t look at it, I thought it was a scam. The day I responded was the very last day of casting.” Raven was also one of the very last people to be cast for season three.
The time between Raven sending off her application and getting on a flight for filming was just six weeks. Zanab also said she didn’t believe when she was reached out to either, and thought it “was a scam”. However, Kait had second thoughts even after joining!
