Here’s where the Educating Manchester stars are now, from mum-to-be Mia to Mr Povey
It's been eight years since we last saw them on our screens
Educating Manchester featured Harrop Fold School, where headteacher Mr Povey led the way and taught kids such as then-pregnant 15-year-old Mia, to heavy metal-loving pupil, Tom. Two of them have been arrested, while Povey was suspended from teaching forever.
Mr Povey
Mr Povey from Educating Manchester was suddenly banned from the Channel 4 show, and loads of us were gutted. He was the former headteacher at Harrop Fold School, but a Teaching Regulation Agency (TRA) probe found he had been off-rolling pupils.
The former headteacher denied the allegations, but the TRA said his conduct had “fallen significantly short” of standards. It was also told there had been occasions when pupils were recorded as being at school when they were not, which could have put them at risk of harm.
He was basically removing them from the school without permanently excluding them. The board’s panel recommended Mr Povey was banned from teaching for two years, which is when Salford Council placed the school in special measures in 2018.
Mr Povey resigned in September that year, shortly after being suspended over the allegations relating to attendance and exclusions. Loads of people are still huge fans of the teacher, and it turns out he’s doing really well, if social media is anything to go by.
He was suspended with three other members of staff, and following a TRA investigation, Povey was banned from teaching indefinitely in November 2024 for conduct that brought the profession into disrepute. Povey is now a leadership coach and mentor at DPC LTD.
Mia Peers
Mia Peers, who has become a mum since appearing on Educating Manchester, was arrested in 2021 for hiding a gun and ammunition. She was pregnant while filming the show, and was due to give birth to her second child while serving a five-year prison sentence.
The former TV star was jailed for hiding a gun for her boyfriend and has since had her sentence reduced to three years and nine months, following a Court of Appeal hearing. At the age of 20, she confessed to her mum that she had been given the self-loading pistol.
She also held onto the 9mm bullets when she was held at knifepoint by people looking for the weapon in 2020. Peers, who was often praised for being dedicated to her studies and her dreams of becoming a hairdresser while pregnant, pleaded guilty to the two counts.
Thomas Eastwood

Thomas Eastwood, who always referred to himself as a metalhead on the show, was jailed in 2020. He was subsequently jailed for 16 months and handed a restraining order banning him from contacting a victim, who said he showed her controlling behaviour.
Police saw the victim crying on the road after Eastwood, who was 19, followed his ex-girlfriend down the road weeks after they broke up. He was convinced she’d been texting other guys and took her phone from her hands, hitting her hand when she tried to get it back.
Eastwood was found a short while after an officer saw the victim, and found him in possession of a large kitchen knife that he had tucked inside his coat, which he had taken on a supervised visit to see his baby daughter. Police called him “violent and controlling.”
Katelyn
Katelyn appears to be thriving since Educating Manchester. However, it’s been tough for her, as her father died at the age of 39 just three years after filming the show. She’s been spending most of the last few years going on holiday and posting selfies!
Billy

Billy has done videos on filming Educating Manchester, who was in year 11 when it was shot. He is now an actor after securing an A* in performing arts, went to a performing arts college for a year, and then took two gap years. He’s since starred on Hollyoaks and Brassic!
Faye

Faye has been going out with her boyfriend Kieran, who we met on the show, for 11 years, and is now a mother. She revealed she actually didn’t want the episodes she was on to be put out initially as she was going through a “chav stage” at the time, which “isn’t how she is”.
