Denise Richards owned 36 dogs in the home she shared with her estranged husband, Aaron Phypers, as revealed to Inside Edition. He now looks after 15 of them, and when asked if she had a hoarding issue, he denied that, but went on to say it’s certainly “something”.
Aaron currently lives in the downstairs area of the home with his parents and brother, but is unable to touch any of her belongings upstairs. In the last two days, she returned to their marital home with a moving truck to rescue her 15 rescue dogs from Aaron.
Video evidence shows that there are moths surrounding her vintage clothes, which are worth hundreds, as well as dirt on areas of the carpeted floor. Denise says she hasn’t lived there in two years and accuses Aaron’s family of “severely damaging the property.”
Phypers has revealed that she “has a thing with dogs” and that, at one time, they had a total of 36 dogs in their home. He claimed he and his family had been taking care of all of the animals, which are now numbered at 15, but are currently facing eviction.

The shared $3.5 million mansion is rented by the former couple in California. Denise recently went to collect those dogs and furniture from the place, as she was granted the right to retrieve her things from the residence without violating her restraining order.
Richards was ordered to stay 100 yards away from the home as stated in the temporary restraining order, while he was permitted to retrieve his personal property from their townhouse and office on September 15, which they also share.
Phypers ended up putting Denise’s dog Melanie down without her permission, claiming, “Denise hasn’t interacted with the animals in two years.” Back in August, she only had space to collect one of the many dogs to take with her, in the middle of their messy divorce.
