Gigi Hadid reveals she auditioned for Rapunzel in the live-action Tangled and I feel robbed
Because what do you mean she didn't get it?!
Gigi Hadid reveals that she auditioned for the role of Rapunzel for the upcoming live-action version of Tangled before the project was put on hold.
And I’m going to be honest, whilst I have no idea whether she can actually act or not, I feel like she’d make a pretty great Rapunzel as she certainly looks the part.
Gigi revealed that she’d auditioned during a joint interview with Kendall Jenner for Vogue, saying that she took singing lessons for a month to prepare.
She also explained that she was “really proud” of how the audition had gone, however Vogue did confirm that Gigi Hadid didn’t get the part, but did add that the Tangled live action film is reportedly entirely on pause.
She asked in the interview: “What do we do in this job anymore that scares us? I was really proud of my scene. The singing…I knew they were going to go with a real singer, but I’ll show you my audition scene later.”
Whilst Gigi hasn’t got any major acting credits to her name, she did appear in Taylor Swift’s Bad Blood music video as well as Pillowtalk, and also had a brief cameo in Ocean’s 8.
The frontrunners for the Tangled live action, if it doe go ahead, seem to be Timothee Chalamet and Sabrina Carpenter, with the original voice actors from the animated version saying they’d fit the parts perfectly.
