1000-lb Sisters star breaks silence after people voiced concerns over her chin bruising
'What's with the bruise on her chin?'
Tammy Slaton has broken her silence after people voiced concerns about a bruise on her face. She was filming a casual video in the car with her fiancee when her TikTok followers noticed a dark mark on her chin, and started to comment about what had happened to her.
She revealed her teeth “got pulled,” which caused the bruise. Tammy has just undergone a procedure to get a new smile after having a bridge installed to fill in some of her missing teeth, which left her with a really common mark that happens when blood vessels break.
When someone commented, ‘are you OK? what happened in your chin?” Tammy finally decided to shut down the rumours and confirm we all have nothing to worry about. During her appearance on Creative Chaos podcast, she said they’re only temporary.
Tammy revealed of her new teeth: “They had to cement them in cause the glue wasn’t holding. My body was rejecting it. They had to pull teeth and it’s a bridge. I’m still getting more done. It’s a process. I have a lisp now. It will go away eventually.”

She added, “The only way I think my voice might have changed is cause I’m happier.” Following the insertion of a false tooth that’s anchored to adjacent natural teeth to bridge the gap in an individual’s smile, she’s noticed a slight change in her voice.
Tammy’s new set of teeth go hand-in-hand with her overall transformation, having lost a whopping 500lbs. In January 2024, she posted a video on TikTok responding to one critic who told her to “fix them teeth,” noting that she’s gotten numerous messages about her looks.
“With all due respect, I wish people like you would stop commenting crap like this,” she said. “It’s not helping my confidence. I was trying to keep my confidence boosted and seeing comments about my chin or my teeth doesn’t help.”
