Influencer slammed for endangering three week old baby whilst doing viral trend blindfolded
She was holding her baby whilst balancing on a box in heels completely blindfolded
Influencer and Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star, Mikayla Matthews, has been faced backlash after she was accused of endangering her three week old’s life by attempting a viral TikTok trend.
The trend in question is the Nicki Minaj trend, where people attempt to balance one legged whilst wearing stiletto’s.
However, as if that wasn’t risky enough, Mikayla who rose to fame in Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, also did the challenge blindfolded whilst balancing on a box, all whilst holding her baby.
She captioned the video: “How it feels balancing postpartum and four kids with being the breadwinner.” The influencer managed to keep her balance for a few seconds before she fell off the box, but luckily managed not to drop her baby.
However, many of her followers criticised her for trying such a dangerous stunt with her baby, saying: “Why does everyone think this is ok. If she fell her newborn would be seriously hurt. Bizarre behaviour just for the clicks.”
Another added: “Girl this ain’t it. Don’t put your newborn baby in a position to get hurt privately, or socially.”
Concerns about the trend have only increased after another influencer fractured her spine whilst attempting the challenge.
Mariana, from Russia, has revealed that since the accident she has to wear a corset for three months to help heal and has since spoken out about the incident.
She recalled: “I decided to start a blog, my first content shoot – and here I am leaving the doctor’s with a diagnosis. Irony? Karma? Or just life, which always tests our strength at the most unexpected moment.”
