Here’s why people think Naomi Smalls is ‘deeply hurt’ by this Drag Race collaboration
I mean, it does look like they're having a time
So, lately in the world of Drag Race, it seems like there’s literally drama at every turn. RuPaul’s Drag Race contestants from across all seasons are beefing on X, some are trying to rise above the drama, and now, people are convinced Naomi Smalls is “deeply hurt” by two queens collabing online…
Folks reckon Naomi Smalls is ‘deeply hurt’
Bob the Drag Queen and Manila Luzon just took to YouTube with a new ‘Get Ready With Me’ in August 2025.
The two casually chat about all sorts as they do their makeup, and Naomi Smalls is mentioned – without any shade thrown.
Loads of people are here for the series, as well as Bob’s “laugh,” writing: “These series are actually my favourite and that’s saying a lot because I’ve enjoyed everything that you’re on. Thanks for being such an amazing creative.”
But, the collaboration has still got people talking, and remembering Manila and Naomi’s “feud.”
Uncovering the beef between Naomi and Manila Luzon
Although people are seemingly here for Bob the Drag Queen and Manila Luzon hanging out, one took the time to write in the comments: “Naomi is deeply hurt by this collaboration”
And, it turns out Naomi and Manila have a “years-long feud,” according to Attitude Magazine.
Last year, Manila spoke to the outlet and said: “I’ve had very little contact with Naomi. We filmed my music video ‘Go Fish’ together, but I think what happened is the fan base reacted really negatively to my elimination and I don’t think that she was prepared for the backlash. I don’t think a lot of people understood the severity of my fan base, and I think that was underestimated…”
She added: “There was a point when we tried to get along as friends in the earlier days when there was only like 10-12 new queens each year, but you don’t have to be friends with everyone.”
Manila continued, throwing some shade at Naomi: “Not everyone has to like you, because not everyone has good taste… Or powder, because some of us are looking real shiny these days – put that on a headline.”
Naomi had no regrets about the elimination
Speaking to Gay Times in 2019, Naomi shed some light on her stance regarding the jaw-dropping elimination decision.
When asked if she’d make the same decision again, she said: Oh absolutely! I’d absolutely do what I think is best for myself in the competition, and I think that was what was best for myself at the time.”
Naomi added: “My goal was to win Drag Race, and I had a relationship with Latrice where I figured if I was in the bottom the next week, she’d save me. I didn’t necessarily have that with Manila, and I don’t regret it at all.”
While Naomi is seemingly pals with Bob the Drag Queen, she clearly has an ongoing feud with Manila Luzon, so people are convinced she’d be “hurt” by the two collabing on YouTube.
