Drag Race star suddenly dropped from the Werk The World tour and everyone’s really mad
'Not my choice'
Naomi Smalls isn’t going to the Werk The World tour this year, and RuPaul’s Drag Race viewers aren’t happy. She claimed the decision wasn’t down to her and described the whole thing as “unfortunate,” which has led to a huge discussion around how they’re treated.
She said she “can’t share” the reasons why she isn’t on the line-up. It’s not just attendees that are gutted but her fellow Drag Race queens, such as Derrick Barry, who shared a broken heart emoji in the comments and called Naomi her “best friend.”
Shea Coulee told Naomi the “fans deserve to see you” while Kandi Muse said: “F*** Voss, you look incredible.” Some people even claimed they’d bought tickets purely to see Naomi on stage, and have been ridden of that opportunity for a mystery reason.
She’s been performing for Werk The World for the last seven years, travelling across the globe to do it. She said she’ll “miss her girls backstage, the crew and YOU in the seats” and theories behind why are pointing to her association with Willam, who left Drag Race.
One viewer came up with a theory that states: “I think they’re phasing out some of the girls who haven’t been on TV in a while. It wouldn’t surprise me if Naomi was asked back on AS/vTW and said no,” while another is convinced it’s purely because of costs.
During a recent appearance on Sibling Watchery, Naomi confirmed she would definitely come back if asked. The strange thing is, she was put in the promo earlier this year for the 2025 tour, and remained on the line-up for the last several months.
Some people are convinced that the reason she’s been dropped is down to appearing on The MOM spot months ago. Those that are in attendance this year include Derrick, Kim Chi, Jimbo, Jaida, and Vanjie, who have been performing on the show for ages.
