Kathy Hilton is part of *that* famous family, so it’s hardly a surprise she’s worth a whopping $350 million – but it was a shock when she made the revelation that she purchased a blazer from Shein. She had no idea other people shopped on there, and only spent $22.
While appearing on the Call Her Daddy podcast, she revealed she’d “just bought an eyelet blazer,” before asking, “Have you heard of Shein? Shin? Like, $22, but it looks good.” She then called up Paris Hilton, her daughter, to share the shocking news.
Paris responded to her mother, “That’s hot,” but the people watching aren’t exactly impressed. Kathy is now getting dragged for buying from the brand, especially because she has such a high net worth, with many calling the whole thing “crazy”.
“Why are people still giving people like this attention? Buying from shein when your net worth is 350 MILLION is crazy,” wrote one person, while another said, “No! Someone as wealthy as her should not be supporting these companies wth.”
Host of Call Her Daddy, Alex Cooper, said she’s “going to start crying” after Kathy said, “It’s got eyelet, so I’m thinking I’ll breathe in this.” She also said she liked the eyelet style because it has holes, a trick she’s incorporated thanks to her daughter.
“The fishnets, Paris, that you got me wearing, so I don’t have orange legs, and I can breathe because of the fishnets,” she explained. She’s not the only person in the Real Housewives world involved with Shein, as Teresa Giudice and her daughters once done a collab with them.
“We acknowledge concerns expressed about our partnership and met with SHEIN prior to working together,” Teresa’s rep told TMZ at the time. “We 100% believe in ethical practices in all capacities and have not seen any substantive evidence showing unethical practices.”
