Why Ozzy Osbourne tragically described reality TV show The Osbournes as his biggest regret
He admitted the show completely 'broke him'
Ozzy Osbourne has sadly passed away at the age of 76, however he leaves behind not only an incredible music career but also his everlasting impression on the world of reality TV through his family’s show, The Osbournes.
The Osbournes premiered on MTV between 2002 to 2005, and basically invented the concept of a reality TV show based on a family. They truly did sprint so the Kardashians could mildly hobble.

However, whilst The Osbournes catapulted the family to newfound levels of fame and success, Ozzy Osbourne has since admitted that it was a huge mistake to do the show, and here’s why.
He told Metal Hammer in 2022, that he ended up feeling like a “laboratory rat”, explaining: “All I can say to you is this — if someone offers you a s**t load of dough to be on television, you’d have to be a mug to turn it down.
“I thought it was gonna be a piece of cake. But you have a camera crew living in your house for three years and see how you feel at the end of it. You feel like a f***ing laboratory rat.”

He admitted that the cameras constantly being on his family members meant their life no longer felt normal, and as a result he started to completely “fall apart emotionally.”
Ozzy Osbourne tragically confessed the true effect being part of The Osbournes had on him, saying: “It got to the point where I was falling apart emotionally.
“You can’t f***ing relax. It doesn’t matter where you go for a piss, you’re paranoid there’s a camera in there. But I’m not ashamed of it. It was a big hit.”
Despite the huge success the show had for the family, Ozzy was firm on the fact that he’d absolutely never repeat the experience again, adding: “Would I do it again? It’s now Kardashianville. The world’s changed, man.”
