Octuplets speak out publicly for first time to defend the bizarre circumstances of their birth
Their mother's ribs cracked when she went into labour before delivering eight babies
The thought of giving birth to even just one baby, let alone eight at once fills me with the heebie jeebies, but that’s exactly what Natalie Nadya aka Octomom did.
However, the circumstances of her pregnancy were fraught with controversy and after 16 years her children have finally broken their silence to defend their mother.
Natalie’s eight children were all conceived via IVF, however she only learnt during her pregnancy that her physician had actually implanted her with 12 embryos, leading him to have his license revoked.
During an interview with People, the Octomom admitted that she now regrets not suing him, saying: “I definitely regret that because his insurance would’ve been the one paying, and it would’ve been some millions, and it would’ve been helpful for my family.
“I regret that I kind of threw myself under the bus to cover for him, and I shouldn’t have but I was grateful.
“I wouldn’t have had any of my kids if it weren’t for his innovative technique. No one else in the world did this type of procedure so I didn’t have it in my heart to sue him.”
Natalie’s children have nothing but praise for their mum however, saying: “Our mom’s a very caring person. She’s very kind and funny. She loves to make sure that everybody’s safe.
“Everyone says she’s overprotective, but I say that she’s over caring, and I’d rather have a mother who obsesses and over cares than a mother who doesn’t care at all.”
Another one of her children added that their mum constantly thinks she “messed up” but is adamant that “she didn’t.”
Natalie responded: “Oh well, I thought I did, but no.”
